2019: Rulantica

There does seem to always be a rush to open new attractions at Europa. I mean it's great that they are taking on so many projects. Just ease the deadlines and make sure it's right and there's time to fix things before announcing an opening date.

What is "on time"? Is it the start of a park's season or is it when the park decide it?

Can't remember if Arthur or Soarin over Germany had any delays...

Arthur did have delays, but Voletarium opened at the beginning of June. Can’t remember if it was announced to open then or not - perhaps they learnt from Arthur!

CanCan was such a bespoke project, they didn’t want to rush it, so just opened when it was ready. Obviously they had the unforeseen problems with weighty theming elements, hence the ride itself looking rather 2D. The queue is fantastic though, and the ride itself isn’t all that bad.

Rulantica will open when it opens, at the end of the day. If it’s anything like the concept art then it will look incredible. :)

At the end of the day many projects get delayed, theme park or otherwise. And within theme parks it is not just Europa-Park who have suffered in recent years; just look at Phantasialand with Chiapas and and F.L.Y. (okay, F.L.Y. might not be delayed as they never said when it was going to open but it is taking an age) and Six Flags Magic Mountain with West Coast Racers, Disney with Rise of the Resistance to name a few.

Nothing yet suggests that Rulantica will miss its November 28th opening date.

I see now that Rulantica tickets are on general sale, there’s an Adventure Ticket being sold at a €15 premium. The ticket permits entry an hour earlier than general opening (the same as is offered to hotel guests).

This sort of feels slightly like both a devaluing of the hotel perk and a sort of paid fast track.

The Adventure Ticket includes a copy of the Rulantica novel, too.

If you feel it is devaluing the hotel perk, make your strong feelings known in writing.

If your entire attitude is "if you think this is bad then you should write to the park about it", doesn't that kind of defeat the point of a discussion forum?

Weird how defensive some people get as soon as anything critical at all is said about Europa.

Absolutely not. This is how you provide a paid for premium service; unlike fastack a paid for earlier entry does not opperate to the detrement of other guests. It does not matter to anyone with a regular ticket if others have paid to go at a different time, it will not adversly effect their day at all, where as with fastack every time someone buys a ticket everyone else waiting for that ticket loses riding time and increases queuing time. That is a huge difference and why I so vehemently detest fastrack.

Except it will increase the length of the queues that have already built up by the time 'regular' guests are let in, so of course it is to the detriment of those guests (not to the same extent as paid fastrack though).

In an utterly miniscule way. It's nothing like the same thing.
