2019: Rulantica

I sort of agree with you on this however is this not just Phase 1?

I remember reading somewhere about this being built in stages but I may have made that up!
 
Well this is our Waterpark at work which was built in 1987 and it's arguably appears more immersively themed than Rulantica.

I also feel like this might well have been a little oversold in concept. However, as usual with Europa, the devil will surely be in the detail. It's a new frontier for them, and I'm sure it will deliver. Looking forward to visiting next summer.
 
I mean, compare this with the map that's just been released and you're going to be disappointed.

That's not even a concept image for the waterpark though. That is the concept of the mythical island, Rulantica, to which there was an expedition to be members of ACE. They brought back various artifacts from Rulantica which enabled them to create a special exhibition hall for Krønasår - the Rulantica that we as guests will visit. They knew that it would be difficult to make it feel like guests were on an actual mythical island, so a continuation of the Krønasår museum theme means that things such as the structure of the building fit in.

Here is a concept map of Rulantica the waterpark, which looks pretty much the same as what we are getting:

And in any case, it's not like theme parks don't have a history of making unrealistic concept art. I'd be pretty disappointed riding Shambhala if I'd only seen these images:

I think there’s definitely at least some ambiguity in the marketing material. The Rulantica water park brochures even contain the elaborate artwork so it’s easy to see why it’s confused people. I doubt people are expecting an exact relics of artist’s impressions but they do serve to set a level of expectation.

Personally I tend to agree that judging by the pictures released this far, the executed product is probably a little below what I was expecting in terms of detail. I appreciate that this is a somewhat premature conclusion, but there are certain elements which are unlikely to receive plussing at this stage.
 
This is probably not more than another very nice waterpark...not really standout regarding the pictures that were released so far. But still....very nice looking IMHO. What I am asking myself: To have a comfortable and to some degree relaxing visit how many people may be there at a time? Where`s the limit? Isn`t it far below 3500? What do you guys think?
 
Looking at the final map I do feel Rulantica is missing something, although I am not sure what. But I also felt the same about Volcano Bay.

I think the only truly immersive Water Park I can think of are Disney's (specifically Typhoon Lagoon as it's the only one I've been to). Rulantica could never beat that because Typhoon is huge and has had plenty of expansions.

Also with exception of Arthur and Wodan Europa have always been more concerned with ride hardware than themeing. They've made some great looking attractions but they are still a rides park first.

The true mark of success wI'll be how enjoyable the full package is. If Rulantica is well presented and a lot if fun to be in it won't need to be fully immersive.
 
There’s not too much in terms of extraordinary ride hardware here either though. The slides look decent, but nothing exceptional. I’m hoping and almost expecting that the standout aspect will be the overall package.

I said a few months ago that there’s nothing revolutionary or unique about it, all the rides are at Siam Park or Faliraki... but it’s Europa and they’ll do what they do over time!
 
To me this looks like it’s set up for later expansion. It’s a starting point, and not a bad one at that really m.
 
EP have been advertising the Rulantica evening ticket on social media recently. However, it's only a 3,€ less on an all day ticket (35,50€ down from 38,50€), and it grants access for less than half a day. I don't really see the incentive.

A small saving if you want to do a day at the park then head over to Rulantica in the evening I guess?

It only being 3 euros cheaper does make it a bit of a joke though.

You do still get 5 hours with the evening ticket, so it's not a bad deal. Not sure I have ever spent more than 5 hours in a waterpark before leaving. It would probably make sense for the evening ticket to be a tad cheaper though, maybe around €30? It all comes down to how many they really want to be selling though.
 
From some of the photos that I have seen so far, Rulantica looks like it is going to be a great experience at night, there's some lovely lighting.
