What changes to operations should we expect post Covid-19?

I may of got this wrong but from I can see on social media is a big change in public opinion on theme parks opening. It seems the general demand is that zoos and animal sanctuary’s are more in demand then the theme parks. As I said could be wrong but from what I’m seeing people would rather support a zoo then go to a theme park.

It will be interesting to see what Towers do in regards to ride staff. For example, Galactica requires two cabin ops for dual station mode, but the cabin is quite small. Social distancing wouldn't really be possible. Could they just run it on one station for the time being? Would severely harm throughput with the already reduced capacity though.

Many people, in many industries, have to break the 2 metre rule on a routine basis, for hours on end.
Masks and perspex come to mind.

It's going to be interesting to see how the distancing works in the hotels too. I guess they'll be thoroughly cleaned but the corridors are often quite narrow.

I don't think this will be an issue really - risk of infection is directly proportional to distance and time in proximity to someone, so the risk involved in passing someone quickly in a narrow corridor is minimal.

It's like how some people when passing others on pavements will walk out into the road to maintain a 2m distance, which is ludicrous and dangerous - there's little risk involved in passing said people for 1-2 seconds.

I’m guessing when the hotels reopen it will be room only basis. No entertainment or that sort of thing.
Provided all the entertainers stayed 2m apart, and stayed 2m away from guests, then I don’t see why they couldn’t do entertainment. The likes of Disney and Universal have managed to pull off socially distanced entertainment within their parks.

Mmm, but we're talking about the hotels, where entertainment is always far more intimate.

I think there'll possibly be entertainment but the tables will be distanced or even the bar could open. We know Merlin love their money and they probably make a lot from the bar.

If a pub can open, then I don’t see why the hotel’s bars & restaurants couldn’t! The Rollercoaster Restaurant could be difficult to pull off (maybe they’d need something like perspex screens between each “table” there?), but I don’t see a problem with the more traditional restaurants and bars opening.

But if they continue to sell out the hotel. I’ve never stayed so i don’t know, but if everyone wanted to see the entertainment surely they couldn’t social distance 500 odd people. And I’m think we know how hard it will be to get children to social distance. Considering all the holiday parks are not doing entertainment must mean it would be more difficult to social distance then first expected.

I assume they’d just sell less hotel rooms, wouldn’t they? That would make social distancing possible.

Yeh but which would be the more attractive business option, run at say half occupancy with full entertainment costing money, or run at greater occupancy (driving more revenue) with less-or-no entertainment, saving money?
