Alton Towers week on TV

Hahah yeah, really bad first impression, but the rest the segment the park looked fantastic to be fair.

It sure did, before any guests this year had time to dirty it.lol.

Throughly enjoyable feature, and the route they took around the park was, laregly, credible - which surprised me given the nature of TV. Even more so was some of the shots must have been reshots as the coasters kept going by as they were driving past them.

Oh yes, and some awesome drone photography as well.

One of the best ones has to be the fly-through of the Smiler following the Corsa (4:27 in that video posted a few replies back) and then the Towers one at 4:57.

I said in a reply to a tweet yesterday that the team at Virtual Towers need to add a racing option into the game!

Oh dear

We all know it's so the trains can make the second lift hill, not the flipping G force!

I hope top gear do say about lack of EV charging at towers.

The lack of EV charging points is everywhere, if the Government target for all new cars to be electric by 2030 can be met. Look at any supermarket / retail park / motorway service area car park and there will be a nominal handful of EV charging points compared to the overall size of the car park.

Back to Towers though, I enjoyed the segment on Top Gear. I've done out of season driving at speed round bits of the park when I worked there and some of those pathways are quite narrow. Katanga Canyon to Gloomy Wood is about the worst culprit, so I am not surprised Top Gear got sent along the "Aqualand" bypass to Gloomy Wood.

It was ok... I would’ve liked there to be more episodes, concentrating on different parts each week like maintenance, but I get the point of the show was around COVID and getting the park ready so I suppose in that respect it it was informative to a degree.

I’d happily watch an hour of them just following the gardeners around to be honest! Jealous of their job!

It couldn't have been aired at 9 because the GBBO finished at 9:15. No reason they couldn't have aired it straight after though. Anyway, surely they could've bleeped out the two swearwords?
