Theme Park Worldwide

Shawn’s finished Frontier Adventure and opened it to guests. I’ve enjoyed this series of Planet Coaster. It’s been a nice bit of escapism from the last couple of months in lockdown.

Any thoughts on his coasters? I particularly like the B&M invert he designed.

I've loved watching it. I particularly like the B&M Dive which is clearly based on Baron 1898 but with his own twists e.g. hiding the drop track until the last moment when the doors swing open and you see the whole park.
I also like his interactive dark ride which I think is very creative, going for a dark theme but adding humour is quite a gamble but it seems to have paid off (a storm hits the town, everyone dies, their skeletons come back to life and dance).
I'm looking forward to his next series which is fantasy themed (I know @Matt N is looking forward to it given his comments on the YouTube videos!)

I certainly am looking forward to Shawn’s next series @Thameslink Rail!

I personally think that Frontier Adventure has turned out phenomenally, as Shawn’s parks always do! I’ll admit that Shawn’s Planet Coaster videos are something I absolutely love watching, not least for inspiration for my own projects in the game, in fact I’d personally say that I enjoy the Planet Coaster videos as much as the vlogs, if not more so!

Ah yes the dive coaster was awesome. What I love about his planet coaster series is how realistic his thought process is. He really puts a lot of thought into it all.

I don't know how he does it. I got Planet Coaster for Christmas with the full intention of putting a lot of creativity into it. I gave up after a couple of weeks. I don't have the patience ha. Haven't watched the latest series, but will be binging it.

It's the same with Channel5 gaming. They showcase so many amazing creations. Some of them have taken years.

It’s a small thing, but it very slightly bugs me that the editing style of TPW’s videos has changed over the last month - Shawn has stopped adding fades between each section of footage meaning you get a jump cut from one scene to another, and it makes the whole thing look and feel less polished to my eyes.

I was thinking this when I watched the Paulton's Park vlog this morning!

To some extent I think that's to save time as he is doing a vlog every day and he had to drive from Paultons back home to Staffordshire and then to Blackpool, I don't know how he keeps awake!

It doesn't really take much time to add a fade in-between sections of footage. Usually just a click and drag or similar and just quickly check that it looks alright.

The problem is when you sell your soul to the world of youtube and advertising it's very hard to stop.

I'll be honest I don't watch an awful lot of his videos anymore. Some of the vlogs to parks on the other side of the world I find useful. But why do I want to see somebody vlog a park that I have been to hundreds of times myself? I could walk around Blackpool and Towers blindfolded most likely.

I do despair at the amount of vloggers that are around now. It's a similar gripe I have with people at gigs and music festivals who are non stop on their phones. Enjoy the then and now I say. Why waste precious memories looking through a lense?

The majority of the vloggers just want to be Sanbrooke But you know, I like Shawn. And, for the most part, I find myself agreeing with his commentary on many of the issues raised on the parks. Of course, YouTube is a vicious hamster wheel which spins quicker and quicker. I wouldn't like the pressure of having to visit 7 parks in a week to keep the income going. Sounds like a stress-fest to me. I guess he's in his 20s, so can probably just about hack it for now...!

Still, he's got such a good camera personality and it's good that he's ditched the rest and now focus on him and Charlotte. Much better and more controlled.

I just have to get past his Icon love affair.

@AstroDan Based on what Shawn said in the video (“a cameo from AstroDan!”), it would seem that you even got an appearance in one of his videos! More specifically, his vlog from Wicker Man’s press event back in 2018:

(Go to around 2:30)

He’s certainly come a long way since the days of Sanbrooke Productions and when he broke his camera opening day on Battle Galleons and couldn’t film for the rest of the day.
