Every day for the week starting on Monday the 28th June is a program on Channel 5 called

Susan Calman's Grand Week By The Sea.

Episode 1 - 28th June 8pm Great Yarmouth, I believe that Yarmouth Pleasure Beach rollercoaster will be featured
Episode 2 - 29th June 8pm Brighton
Episode 3 - 30th June 8pm St Ives
Episode 4 - 1st July 8pm Southend
Episode 5 - 2nd July 8pm Blackpool

Like I've mentioned above, I believe that Yarmouth Pleasure Beach will be featured, however I don't know if some of the other episodes will feature any of the amusement parks/pleasure beaches. Blackpool and Southend hopefully will be interesting to watch regardless

Saw the first episode last night. Very interesting programme considering that Jess and I visit Great Yarmouth a lot. We recognise many of the faces on there as we personally know them including Daniel the punch and Judy man and Frank from the model village.

Great Yarmouth pleasure beach was featured in the programme

Next episode is on tonight, looks like more amusement rides will be shown in one or more of the upcoming episodes this week.

I'm going for a hattrick post

With regards to Susan Calman's Grand Week By The Sea. All episodes barring St Ives showed amusement rides. Here is what my grey cells remembers from each episodes

Episode 1 - 28th June 8pm Great Yarmouth

Great Yarmouth pleasure beach Scenic railway, Model village, Punch and Judy, Rock making

Episode 2 - 29th June 8pm Brighton

Viewing tower, end or pier attractions including riding the log flume, toy and model museum, upside down house

Episode 3 - 30th June 8pm St Ives

Probably my least favourite of all the episodes, she explored the fishing town, life guards, seals spotting

Episode 4 - 1st July 8pm Southend

Adventure island rides, the pier, crazy golf,

Episode 5 - 2nd July 8pm Blackpool

Pleasure beach, funny girls (drag theatre), winter gardens, bingo

A heads up for those who have Disney+, a new series Behind the Attraction launched on the platform yesterday. There are 10 episodes in total (although only 5 are up so far) and each one looks at a Disney attaction.

I watched epsisode 1 last night which was Jungle Cruise and found it very enjoyable! Lots of stuff in it that I already knew (because I have read countless books on Disney history and Jungle Cruise always features) but still very imformative and fun!

Watched the first 3 episodes last night (Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Star Tours) and enjoyed them. Thought they had the right sort of tone and liked the fact they expanded on the rides to talk about the other versions (and in Star Tours case it's update and Galaxies Edge).

That sounds interesting. I'll take a look later. Their Imagineering series surprised me when I watched it a few months back. Being Disney, I expected to tone to be very self congratulatory but it was actually very honest. Laid into Michael Eisner's tenure big time, especially the opening of DLP and Californian adventure.

I'll definitely be watching those! Been meaning to sign up to Disney+ so we can watch the Mandalorian anyway. Is the Imagineering series still up?

I found the Behind the Attractions shows quite interesting but the jokey narration has got a bit old after three episodes. The trick of going back to what someone said earlier was funny the first time but not the sixth.
They have the same director as the Netflix series' The Toys That Made Us and Movies that Made Us which also had a very fast-paced styling.

Imagineering Story is a much more traditional documentary and is more interesting and I particularly liked that Eisner admitted some decisions weren't the best.

Yep. Although I didn't even make it through the first episode.

Bit of a let down after the brilliance of The Imagineering Story.

Completely agree. Watched 3 episodes and did enjoy them but much lower production values compared to the Imagineering story. Interesting stuff but they seemed to focus too much time on the same cringe worthy repeated "jokes" as if it's some YouTube doc. Glossed over loads of information I felt in order to do the whole rewind the tape "isn't that funny, he said this originally but the boss said no LOL" repetitions. My kids were disappointed with the brief explanation of how Tower of Terror works so we looked it up elsewhere on the web afterwards instead.

I watched it last night and enjoyed it. Interesting to see some of the challenges encountered when building such a large coaster. Glad the narrator started calling it a vertical loop by the end rather than a loop the loop!

Watched the Coaster Studios RMC documentary This Is How We Roll this afternoon (available on Vimeo to rent or buy).

Thought it was excellent, with some great insight into the company from the people who run it.

This is not a TV alert as such, but more a recommendation of something to watch.

Coaster Studios have released a documentary about RMC called This Is How We Roll. It is 1 hour 20 minutes long and can be purchased for £8.74 or rented for £5.10 on Vimeo.

I watched it with a couple of friends on Friday night and we all agreed it was more than worth the rental price. It is a high quality professional production with great insight from both Fred Grubb and Alan Schilke. Don't assume it might be somewhat ameteur just because it is made by a YouTuber; if you did not know any better you would think it was produced by a season TV documentary producer/channel.
