That's from Beaver Creek, but it's not JR, I think that's supposed to represent the ringmaster from the first SuperDome (Globe) circus. Someone from the Jay family, maybe.

Have a good weekend !
I don't think it's the same character. The facial features look different to me.

The one I saw looks more like JR to me but could be anyone I suppose.

I know there were a few of these kiosks dotted around pleasure beach and were all different.

Does anyone know who they all were supposed to be?

There was definitely a JR and a Geoffrey. I think one was Peter Jay and potentially another was Frank Wright.

There’s still one standing guard to the car park on back side of Watson Road. Has a moustache and what looks like a security guards outfit. Not sure who it’s supposed to be, if anyone.

Only 100 to go!

Seem to remember one of them ended up as a pay booth for the go kart track that was located were the big tram shed at Star Gate is now located.

When were they made though? Was it something done after JR et al became celebrities following the Pleasure Beach documentary?

There was one at the crazy golf next to that site, for a while. In fact, I think that could be the one our @shakey has rediscovered ... I seem to recall that one being on the overpass for a while.

I think I have posted this before, but it amuses me no end that the Google Street View algorithm blurs his face to protect his identity ...

I miss that crazy golf, it was good and open quite late in the summer and towards the end, they let you take alcohol in and booze as you played.

I don't think they all came to be at the same time. The WGT one was quite a different standard/style compared to the two similar looking ones and the JR one somewhere in-between.

One ended up at the Starr Gate mini golf in 2008, so I assume that came from the go kart track when it was demolished:

Edit: beaten to it!

The pleasure beach are receiving overwhelming backlash following some of the voiceovers used on their latest piece of ‘marketing’.

They’ve since disabled comments on the YouTube video too, which is not a good image.

EDIT: They’ve deleted the tweet and the video as soon as I posted this

I

Yes, that looks more like the one I saw at Ghetto Golf in Liverpool.

Spotted another one in a recent pleasure beach winter update video. This one is still at the pleasure beach behind the scenes (Why do they keep so much stuff?)

I remember the star gate crazy golf very well, played it several times in the late 70's / early 80's - Back then it was an Arnold Palmer crazy golf. There were quite a few of them around. Think there is still one in Skegness.

Pleasure Beach charging £44.00 on Saturdays this season. £2.00 more than Alton Towers.

What are they playing at?

I didn't go at all in 2021 and won't be again if that is the admission rate. Rip off.

Still gets very busy on Saturdays, to the point where they can't cope with visitor numbers comfortably.
Management of crowds by pricing has been done for years.
I imagine there will be loads of discounts come daily opening if staycations become a thing of the past.

They clearly don't give a toss about the guest experience. Happy to take the cash without offering the experience. Reminds me of Alton about 10 years ago, and Flamingoland now.

11am to 5pm and no Grand National, no Big One and no Valhalla to start with. And Wild Mouse gone (and to be honest, I have been bitter about that since).

£39. Lolz.

But they are consistent, over half a century of personal visits.
They have never given a damn about customer experience.
Make 'em queue, ram 'em in, empty wallets, virtual or otherwise, throw 'em out.
And the next high tide washes in a fresh crowd.

£44 for entry and if the rumours are right then extra upcharge for Enso...
Do we know the Enso charge?

Steel Taipan spinning is +AUS$25 (£13!)
DC Rivals backwards is +AUS$15 (£8)

This really could become another huge cash cow for Icon along with Speedy Pass.

As far as I know it's not been advertised but the guess it will be an upcharge comes from the PBE experience meet making it sound like it will be an upcharge.

No actual source, but I bet it is a tenner, maybe up to twenty in the summer weekends.
Come on dippy, I will pay you on.
