Disneyland Paris: General Discussion

First Space Mountain, then Rock N Roller Coaster...

Disney as a whole has just dropped in quality over the last decade, especially after covid. Its mostly texturless walls now, some projections and screens.... that's it...

Why can't we have rides like the original Epcot attractions, or Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, etc nowadays? At least we have Tokyo Disneysea, which is a phenomenal park that proves you don't need IPs to make a great Disney ride.

If I recall there's a petition on Change.org to try and fire Bob Chapek as CEO, and when i last checked it had around 100k votes.

The Disney board just voted the other week to keep Bob Chapek in his role for another 3 years.

While it might be the case in Paris as they have added very little, having been lucky to visit the parks on both American costs a few times in the last decade I would not say on a whole quality has dropped. While there are some attractions where quality isn’t as good (ie Spider-Man and toy story land ) they have added some very good quality rides in the last 10 years- Cars land, Pandora, galaxy edge (especially rise of the Resistance), Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway is also a solid addition and Guadians of the galaxy is getting great reviews as well.

I get where you're going, they're good rides, but they all share something in common, an IP.

Most of Disneys most beloved rides aren't IPs at all, such as Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Journey into Imagination, Pirates of the caribbean, etc.

It'd just be nice to see Disney to make a good quality non IP attraction that doesn't rely on screens or modern architecture, that's all

TBH, Disney are not the only ones guilty when it comes to making rides with just screens and many IP's, many parks across the world are doing this (Merlin no doubt are going all in on this) and I hope the concept of physical props and effects on future/refurbished dark rides/coasters doesn't end up becoming extinct within the next decade.

Why does it take Disney this long to complete these projects?

If this re-theme of RNRC and Cars Road Trip are the future, then god help the park. It ain't no California Adventure overhaul, is it.

Very true, can't see California Adventure replacing an area with Avengers Campus consisting of a retheme of an existing ride and an underwhelming Web Slingers dark ride. ;)

Obviously joking

The CA fix was certainly much more complete but they at least had a better footer to start from. Hopefully our "Cars Land" will come in the form of Frozen which is very much on it way and the lake will fix the park layout, fingers crossed at least.

Massive Spoilers but Avengers Campus tour:

I've insulted this area afew times but with people wandering around it and all the meet and greets it does look like a brilliant addition to DLP.

French workforce... I mean look at phantom Manor, it's a small world etc... Then look how long it takes cast members to serve food and drink.
