Mandy has tweeted about Valhalla. She wants it open this year yet brexit and covid have caused delays for the ride and all their rides, I think it will be 2023 now. Sorry I don't have the tweet as I'm not on twitter.
"I want it to open this year and I am pushing every day for it to open this year. We just have delays with technical issues and logistics on parts etc. Brexit and Covid have caused so many issues especially re getting parts……. And not just for this ride for all our rides." -

I am not convinced Mandy's excuse is the main reason. Not saying there may not have been issues getting parts but even Amanda is not stupid enough to say "sorry guys, we can't afford to open it this year"

If you look at everything the park have been doing since icon opened. It has been one cost cutting measure after another , alongside price increases for just about everything.

If they are so desperate they are happy to risk getting a bad reputation by saving a few quid shutting rides an hour early or with poor operations or by simply keeping the mist off on icon. Then think how much they are saving by keeping the ride with biggest running costs, closed for 3 years.

You would think in the planning stages they would have got everything ordered to do the work. I do think with the rising interest on the parks loans and the price of the electric and gas to run the ride is the more likely reason it’s not reopened this season.

Just think...if they hadn't set up Hot Ice this year, which is a catastrophic loss making machine, they could have saved a couple of million quid to spend on Valhalla, a park attraction that people do actually want to visit.
But Mandy knows best.
I heard a vicious rumour that a group of old men were going to go to Hot Ice tomorrow, and crap on the ice in symbolic protest...
Only to discover there is no Sunday performance, and it is the only day their carers can take them out.

It's certainly a shame, I've visited only twice this year, what a waste of a season pass so far. I bought it with Valhalla in mind, how naive of me.

I also don't think enough people are talking about the Nash, it seemed to get so much praise when it re-opened, but it's really riding worse than ever. Front train, admittedly on a wheel seat, worst ride I've ever had on it, even comparing to the '21 season.

Have the ice shows ever been popular? Always remember as a kid when you got the ride tickets there'd be some show tickets as well (which we never used).

Whilst they do advertise the show on the park they'd surely benefit from actually having a proper sign with the show times up outside the on park entrance to the ice arena bar. They have the Pasaj actors going round the park to drum up business for that but don't do the same for their own show. Surely even now there must be non riders or people looking for something to do for 90 minutes during the afternoon.

Problem is, they don't get many non-riders now because they took the non-rider pass away!

Even twenty years ago you could have multiple performances per day of Hot Ice, Eclipse and Mystique. They felt profitable but there's some not insignificant costs associated with running those things.

I wonder how much the shift to day visits (or shorter stays) in lieu of week long breaks perhaps changes the demand for the shows.

Plus, if you're staying more centrally, there's probably more options like Viva etc closer to your hotel.

There is a second tweet where Amanda essentially attacks a customer for asking for an update.

It's very poor form, given the context that Pleasure Beach have given no update to the hundreds of people going through their gates this summer, essentially lying to them with the statement that it will be "back for summer 2022." So for her to attack someone asking for an update is absolutely unbelievable, given it's a problem her own park have created by not being honest.

There is another element to it; she's blamed Covid and Brexit, but she supports the Tories so is directly responsible. It's literally her fault!

I almost agree with her, it's not exactly going to save them money by delaying it. But a bit more official communication would go a long way.

BPPB aren't really unique in this however, have we had any official updates on Hex for example?

Hex hasn't been shut for a couple of years, with a promised return time twice failed.
Plus with towers you only get info from the park's official social accounts, and the social media team won't always know what's happening.
