Enterprise Site

To use an industry term, the thing is knackered.
No one would be complaining if they had plans to replace like for like or put another ride in.

We don’t know what the future holds for that site yet. The annoying thing is, parks like Chessington have had numerous flat rides in addition for last and this season. Alton get a bunch of fairground attractions while they pull out their best flats.

The ride deserved a bit more respect than it got. An announcement to say it’s leaving would have been fine.

They had over a year to plan to replace it or fix it. Will wait until March to see what they come up with.

The thing is that Merlin don't really care about rides and attractions that weren't made by then, there are exceptions of course. The only non S Tier Ride they didn't make I think they partly promoted was Colossus's 20th anniversary. They could've don't a whole event at X-Sector, celebrating the Smilers 10th Anniversary, and Oblivions 25th anniversary. There's clearly a bit of bias in terms of Their own products and specific types of rides from the higher ups that I think the Parks staff and creative can't control unfortunately, and it's clearly effecting the park badly. Screw the Retro Squad, THEME THE FLAT RIDES TO THEIR AREAS, ITS SO EASY!!!! Permanent Flat rides would be greatly welcomed, as long as their themed to the areas they're in.

What? The idea that Merlin don’t care about attractions that were built before they purchased Tussauds is nonsense.

They aren’t sat in board meetings saying ‘oh not that Tussauds ride, let it rot!’.

Not to mention the fact they are currently spending millions replacing a Tussauds ride pretty much like for like.

When it comes to events Merlin will have had naff all to do with whether Smiler or Oblivion get ‘celebrated’, that’s a local management decision.

I'm not saying it's fully intentional, but it just seems that maintenance on older attractions, around pre 2005 seem to be really lacking outside of things like rethemes or major refurbishments, the TLC on them is quite obviously needed more than their newer attractions. There just doesn't seem to be a consistency in the parks operations and maintenance, and it's really showing now.

Bit embarrassing if there is no replacement (and I see absolutely no reason to believe there will be). It's not like this has caught them off guard and they've had a long time to plan for it. It's also a relatively inexpensive ride to replace.

Regarding celebration events, they're nice and all once in a while for the fans, but drawing too much attention to the parks ageing ride line-up could start to give a negative impression to the wider public.

I think if they're done right, celebrating an older attraction would just work as good as celebrating a newer one. Disneyland celebrated The Haunted Mansions 50th anniversary, same with the Matterhorn Bobsleds, which isn't Disneys best ride now, but they're still aware of how special it is to many still. Both celebration events ended up being really positively viewed by both Fans and GP.

Anyway back on poor old enterprise now.

Well then...do we lock the thread that Enterprise has finally left for good? But yeah, Towers just hates flat rides for some odd reason and I have no clue when this will change.

I think of they're done right, .....
Exactly. The difference being that Disney have maintained and upgraded both of those rides over the years and they look and ride as good, if not better than the day they opened. I'm not saying Towers shouldn't celebrate anniversaries, just that I think they need to be very selective of what and when and cautious not to over-do it.

But anyway, yeah.. way off topic.

Lack of supporting thrill rides at Towers is plain silly at this point.

It's been knackered for a long long time. Problem is, Towers have commited CAPEX now for 2023, 2024 and probably 2025 plus a standard contract for the Retrosquad to return this season.

It’s all been removed. All gondolas. All framework.
Means nothing. It could be removed for major maintenance, or possibly a replacement. Only the demolition of the ground area would confirm its demise.

Most coasters don’t get a look in for their birthdays. Dragons Fury, Rattlesnake, Saw, Swarm, Spinball, Rita and Th13teen. There - I don’t think they celebrated birthdays.

I know they wouldn't celebrate them, but remember Vampires refurbishment for it's 30th anniversary? Anyway can we please get back on topic.

“means nothing” you can literally SEE them all working to remove the mechanism that lifted the ride. It’s not coming back. And a replacement? We know which park we’re on about don’t we?
My point still stands. They could be taking it away for it to have some work done elsewhere in the parks workshops, or away from the park? Samurai went all the way back to Holland for an overhaul before arriving at Thorpe Park!
