Drayton Manor Park

If they got an Axis it'd launch the park back into the big time.
I doubt it, but it would be wonderful if it were to happen! An Axis can be launched or have lift hills so there is a lot of versatility, and they can be quite compact!

I think something like this would be cool. Compact, snappy launch, not massively thrilling and would offer a good ride experience without the OTSR's.

With all the coasters on the park only running with one train I don’t think another to add to that list would be a good idea, unless they could resolve this with a switch track or turntable maybe.

I do think they originally they did want the S&S 4D free spin coaster which was reported back in 2021 which was gonna open in 2023 but they decided if they really want Drayton Manor back as the best non Merlin park in the uk they got to go big and offer a family thrill coaster that’s new to the uk or even Europe to attract more European visitors.

Not quite sure going for an unproven concept off S&S when so much hangs off getting this right is a good idea.

Does so much hang on them getting it right? I mean I hope they do. But I do not feel the general public feel the same was as us enthusiasts.

I mean there is an expectation to us enthusiasts. But Drayton Manor as a business is flying high again now. The attendance is up. Customer satisfaction is up, overall the place is on the rise and the market has responded very well to the direction and investments looping have done to date.

That will not go away if this coaster is not upto the level that us enthusiasts expect it to be at.

I would even go as far to say outside of Merlin, they are the market leaders in the market they are in. Even if you do not agree with that. Drayton Manor is a major player in the market they serve. That will not go away if the coaster does not live upto the expectations of enthusiasts.

If they are not the market leader now. One decent coaster will possibly cement them as the leader. As no other park in the UK offers the variety as DMR does for the market is serves. It is quite unique.

Maybe I am jaded from the 2 S&S coasters I've done being either not great (Falken) or downright awful (Mumbo Jumbo) and not trusting S&S to make something reliable.

Yeah I do agree and with this coaster if they had kept Apocalypse and re themed it with this new coaster it wouldn’t have put so much pressure on the looping group to get this coaster right unless they are going to be installing a new sit down drop tower as currently on site Apocalypse base hasn’t been dug up and without the building they could easily use that same area for the ride and queue line.
