[202X] Project Ocean: New Forbidden Valley Flat Ride

This comment on TPWW's recent video makes a good point...

Obviously we don't know the shape of the theming structures but they'll almost certainly anchor the support struts that extend from the main columns.

Pretty sure it'll be a Huss suspended top spin now.

Maybe there'll be a glass canopy in the roof of the tunnel or something, allowing spectators to look up and watch the ride from below. We'll find out eventually though.

My guess is that its the double sided Top Spin and they wanted to ensure one side wasn't just facing the woods, but are going about it in an OTT way.

Demolishing the cafe (moving it to the old refresh@ripsaw) and putting the new ride properly in the middle of the area at a "normal" height might have been better, but likely no cheaper than the jack it up method being proposed.
 
I hope it’s something new, and just because people say it’s a Top Spin doesn't mean it will. No one will know for sure until it opens.

Stupid question time and apologies if I have missed, but will it actually be in a box, or is that simply how its height/maximum footprint is represented on the 3D models. Application seems to state it sits *on* a building.
 
I suppose if it's a double sided top spin then it can be viewed nicely from each side of the tunnel. It'll probably just look pretty imposing in an impressive way in its elevated position as you make your way down the path into FV. I can see why they might have gone for the idea of sticking it on top of a box/tunnel instead of tucked into that alcove where Ripsaw was.

After discussing with @Sam today I’m putting it out there as one of those zamperla sheep dip rides. 2 side arms, check, lowered platform, might explain the tunnel situation, fountain nearby for water connection.
I hope it’s not but it would work
 
The name Project Ocean made me think of the Zamperla Big Wavez, but I believe it would be too tall and surely cause issues with the splash zone being so close to other attractions. Just a thought

That was me :)

Kind of a full circle moment though, seeing that comment shared here... Yesterday, as soon as I saw the dimensions, I posted on Coaster Force that the Suspended Top Spin fits perfectly if they use the 2 theming columns as anchors for the side supports. Later I came on here to find @JamesP had reached the same conclusion and kindly overlayed the ride design drawings onto the plans, which confirmed my thoughts. Hence why I posted that on Shawn's video... 🙈:tearsofjoy:

Ultimately I cannot see it being anything else. The height matches exactly, the width and length of the loading area fit perfectly, the 2 theming elements are the perfect width apart to anchor the supports into, there seems to be a lower front and rear barrier on the platform for 'the swing,' there is space underneath for the drop floor, (if you look closely at the ride design drawings JamesP added, the dotted lines show that where the drop floor drops to, matches up exactly with the space underneath, despite the hydraulics needing moving.) There is 2 access gates, to accomodate front and rear loading, it's designed to be a showcase from either side, and there even looks to be troughs front and rear for water or fire effects.

The wedge underneath the seats which creates the splash looks huge on those things, if they put one of those on top of this structure, the loading platform alone would probably be getting close to the treeline. So yeah it'd be too tall, I imagine the views from the top would be great though!

Yes makes sense. As impressive a spectacle it would be I’m not sure the ride experience looks much to shout about😂. Hopefully it’s a floorless Top Spin, great capacity and just so much fun for both spectator and rider.
