You know you're getting old when...

I had a very strange comment from someone at work today. Not sure how it was meant, but I'm taking it as a compliment.

"You look like you're from Berlin."

Shaved head, goatee, only wears black, drinks pilsner, likes hard techno....
I can see that.
😘
Disappointed that they didn’t mean you looked like you were from the 80s new wave band Berlin.

That’s a look that really would take our breath away.

They don't even know how to have a proper session these days, and they're trying to be all 'healthy' and stuff. ****** dweebs! Going to the gym and everything. What's wrong with staying up 'til 5 in the morning, having several bifters, 14 cans of lager, 3 glasses of wine, a glass of 'something' that some random person gave you and quarter of a bottle of whisky and feeling like absolute s**t the next day? ****** kids!
You left out blue MD 20/20
;)

There was a newsagent just round the corner from my school who would quite gladly sell it to kids, even in school uniform. Nothing else, mind. It was the only booze he would sell us. We didn't have much choice.

... Flip side of that, I had a different shop refuse to serve me fags because I was in school uniform. Even though I was 18 (when the age was still 16), had ID, and could even show them my polling card from the London Mayor election I'd just voted in on my way in to sixth form.

Now I thought hoopers hooch lemon was the first kiddypop booze.

Mad dog predates hooch by a few years I think.

I was definitely drinking mad dog in 1985 or 86 . Don't think hooch came out till the late 80s or even early 90s

Just had a quick Google on mad dog 20/20. It used to be sold in 20 centilitre bottles and was 20% alcohol, hence the name. You can still buy it online but it is no longer 20% apparently. They are all pussies today !!

When someone at work.... who was born after you started your career... proudly proclaims that the only "movie" she has ever watched is "the Harry Potter one", and doesn't know how anyone could ever have the patience to sit through a whole one.

Neither could I, Radcliffe's performance is rather atrocious.

I've never read the Potter series. I've seen the first two films and genuinely can't remember a thing about them. I just can't get into the series at all.

However,

I've been to Harry Potter place in London and universal. I love the design of all of it. It's just a shame it's wasted on Harry Potter and it's fans.

It's mind-blowing that anyone could reach adulthood without having seen a Back to the Future film or Demolition Man (ok, maybe not the latter).

I’m younger than many here, and even I’ve managed to see all three BTTF films! Although I’ve admittedly never even heard of Demolition Man…
