Are we in a parallel universe?

I’m pretty sure that directors of global businesses do not discuss which deals they are or aren’t doing with random strangers who get in touch with them via LinkedIn.

Snap, the media, theme park news magazines have all been in touch with the current owners to verify the claim and for statements.

I suppose what I'm interested to know is why @RLP is spending so much time responding in detail to our questions when it's not us they need to convince. Aren't there bigger fish to fry? That's why this seems a bit off to me...

There is media outreach, many want a decision (such as myself).

I am not doubting people are talking about RLP in a bad way because at the end of the day, we are not a well known brand, we are not published as others.

However, Oakwood started on a farm by one man, he made it an empire, that is what we want to do for the local community and help boost the welsh economy, I live not far from Oakwood and have seen Little Chef off the A48 close and Pret turn up next to a new McDonalds.

We are a small group but we have a plan based on models run and stats and any live data we can find and do want to bring the park back.

I also totally agree with skeptical approach for the same reason as above.

I hope we are given the chance to run Oakwood once again.

So… to quote what happens a lot on this forum.

You know something from a source that can’t be name (or has a made up name nobody can trace). Can’t provide evidence to the source and can put any timeline on things.

So my question is. Why say anything at all? You don’t have to. You’re not gaining anything by this?

Are your employers or partners aware of these posts. Are you meant to be doing this? Again if so - why?

@RLP I appreciate the correspondence and transparency! I personally will give your proposal time to materialise; I appreciate you’re a young company and will need time to legitimise a bit.

If the proposal does drag on with nothing happening for ages (a la the London Resort) or it does turn out that you are a crowdfunder and/or a fan with no credible plans (a la that guy who set up a crowdfunding petition to reopen American Adventure), then I will join the critical brigade, but as things stand, my personal view is that I’m just going to sit back and await further developments before I make a hasty judgement.

If you are still accepting questions, however, I have one that I’ll admit may be slightly more probing (if it is, feel free not to answer). You’ve said in some of your later posts about how your proposals are based on models that use publicly available information. Any mathematical predictive model will be based on a wide range of assumptions, so my question to you is; have you consulted any industry professionals or people with domain knowledge of the theme park industry and/or the Welsh tourism market in devising your proposals to ensure that your assumptions are credible and correct? Or are these models just devised by yourself with assumptions randomly plucked out of thin air?

You can make a predictive model say anything you want it to if you make the right assumptions, so I’d be keen to know whether you have taken steps to make sure that the models underpinning your proposal are robust and make assumptions that reflect reality. To do that, you’d really need people with domain knowledge on board. Have you consulted any individuals with relevant domain knowledge in developing this proposal?

There is a “Phase One” now outlined on there. It’s quite vague rather than going into too many specifics (understandable at this stage), but it does say that @RLP intend to add a new headline attraction, as well as make the park accessible, improve path finding and perform maintenance and refurbishments.

There’s also a whole page about who RLP are and why they should be trusted, which may allay some of the concerns expressed on here.

I'm sorry, but I have little faith in this.
A minor search leads to absolutely nothing, no background history, absolutely nothing in any media about the "company" that I can see...just minor press reports on the original "announcement".
Not at all convinced about the origin of the comments on the website either.
This should sort out over the next few weeks, but I would guess it will come to nothing.

Wake me up when the place reopens with the planned new ride.

As others have written, I really hope it is true and that it comes to fruition as it sounds really exciting - and too good to be true which is where all the doubt is coming from. It’s a shame this forum doesnt have a blue tick to verify identity! Haha.

How advanced are the conversations with Aspro? Would you be expecting a decision imminently or is it a slow back and forth?

I wonder why you have you chosen to write on here now, and make the website etc, before it is a signed deal with Aspro?

With regards to modelling, I have reached out to multiple teams and the welsh government departments for various resources.

We are a small team. A soft search won’t show anything about us which I understand may seem a red flag and we are okay with this.

I can’t comment on how far along we are won’t ASPRO, however we can confirm that the proposal is in the latter stages.

We publicly wanted to introduce ourselves and thought we would do this here.
