I would not be against them getting rid of Rita replacing it with a family are couple of Flats maybe a water ride. Just like it was before
Sorry, since when did Talbot Centre/Festival Park/Ug Land/ Dark Forest have a water ride?

Isn't Rita meant to be on the way to Chessington?

I heard they’d only closed it so they could steal the airgates for the monorail refurb![]()
Seems fair.

See I get why people are not the biggest fan of Rita, considering what could be in it's plot of land, but honestly I'd miss it once its gone, it's my favourite ride there after reborn and wicker man.
People complain that the layout does nothing, but the sharp turns are equally as intense as nemesis (especially the turn over th13teen's entrance), and it provides great airtime as well on about 3 occasions, and it really is not that rough either. Albeit I'm 5'11, but even as a kid, I never had any issues with the restraints at all.
I feel like everything people complain about Rita, they turn a blind eye with other rides. Rough? Smiler is rougher. Short? Oblivion and Stealth are shorter.

I don't really care for Rita all that much but the park definitely isn't in any fit state to even think about losing a major coaster at the park. There's not enough supporting attractions to warrant it.

Ideally the park should replace Rita in a similar fashion to Liseberg did with Helix and Kanonen. Build a new multi-launch an then remove Rita a few seasons later, that way they can open up Dark Forest with more supporting attractions and make the area a lot nicer to spend time and dwell in. If they removed Rita first, a lot of the public will be upset because the park will lack a launch coaster.
There’s nothing to indicate at the moment that the Accelerators sticking around are getting substantially more expensive to operate and it seems Rita’s issues this season just seems like normal extended downtime. The Stratas were only ripped out because they were exceptional in scale, something which Rita certainly isn’t.

EDIT: ‘closed for essential maintenance’ re-addedThe ‘closed for essential maintenance’ tag has vanished, unsure if that’s just reading too much into it?

Ever since Rita was hastily added to Ug Land the area has been horrendous. Its been discussed to death but I’ll never know what they were thinking adding a modern drag race to a prehistoric land. Its such a shame Ug Land was ruined and didnt last very long; I genuinely thought it was a really well done and fun area.
Dark Forest is one of the worst conceived theme park areas I can think of. To be honest, I struggle to understand how they even let it get past concept stage given even the name is basically just a variant of ‘Gloomy Wood’… it is one of, if not the laziest ideas they have ever put together.
And then given the fact over the years its been bodged into scaffolding and wooden fence post land, it is a total mess.
Rita has had its time, it does nothing exciting other than the launch and even that is kind of underwhelming now given there are better experiences to be had these days. Flatten the whole area and start again!

Rita was added hastily to bulk up the ride lineup ready for the sale of the park / company. Which was ultimately sold to DIC in 2005. This is why no care was put into it, they wanted something adding and fast.
They Should of put Rita where Black Hole was it closed the same season and or where Toyland was which also closed as well in 2005Ever since Rita was hastily added to Ug Land the area has been horrendous.
