Until we one of those super rare overcast days....If all their attractions were ran on solar or wave power they would not have a loss of power

Could they not use the waterfalls or lakes around the resortAh yes, the River Churnet, known for being such a raging torrent.

I never mentioned those two, I mentioned Wave Power. They could use the rapids water flow to generate powerHydropower requires water movement on a large scale.
Tidal Power requires tidal water, the clue is in the name.
A large static body of water will provide no power at all.
What would you imagine would power the rapids, that in turn generate this power..?I never mentioned those two, I mentioned Wave Power. They could use the rapids water flow to generate power
Look, will you stop bringing reality into proceedings.Hydropower requires water movement on a large scale.

Well if Magic Kingdom wanted to build their own nuclear power station at one point (and still have planning permission for it), why can't the company that's "second only to Disney" do the same?Towers should disconnect from the national grid entirely. Start their own self sustaining power generation facility just for them. Since clearly we’re in bizarro fantasy land now aren’t we?
Alton Point C coming soon…Well if Magic Kingdom wanted to build their own nuclear power station at one point (and still have planning permission for it), why can't the company that's "second only to Disney" do the same?
I believe Paultons did say majority of their park is now powered by SolarI think we need significant advancements in renewable energy to occur before Alton can rely solely upon it, unfortunately!
I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually do that thing that parks like Paultons have done and build solar panels over the car parks, but solar can only provide so much of the park’s power.
Not to mention that as others have said, the likes of hydroelectric are not terribly feasible forms of alternative electricity for Alton. If they were by the coast or a river estuary, maybe, but not where they are now.
Paultons is somewhat smaller than Alton Towers, though, so probably requires less electricity.I believe Paultons did say majority of their park is now powered by Solar
solar isn't too flickery, it is connected to the grid still (and often puts energy back into the grid)I'd be interested to know if "the majority of the park" includes any actual rides. Food, retail, lighting etc. seems believable. But rides where safety is critical doesn't sound like something you should be powering off something as fickle as solar.
No, they didn't.I believe Paultons did say majority of their park is now powered by Solar
Source: https://blog.paultonspark.co.uk/the-solar-energy-project/The result will supply Tornado Springs with renewable energy and at certain times of the year Tornado Springs will be 100% powered by solar power!
