Scarefest 2025

Is it just me or would it seem really weird for them to not only make a maze for dark forest, but also this scare-zone.

I feel like marketing wise, a lot of people may get the two mixed up who aren’t as in the loop resulting in them seeing less value in the event.

We don't know if the new Maze will be linked to the Dark Forest or could be a new version of Terror of the Towers

Agree

There’s lots of suitable themes around the park (X Sector/MOJ/Smiler/Hex/The ruins/Pirates/Katanga Canyon/TCaAM) that could be used, if for no other means than to spread crowds around the park

You could use more themes from the past ride selection than imagine a Caveman/Dinosaur Scare Maze related to Ug Land. Or a Haunted Toys factory as a theme

So Edge of the Forest and Dark Hollow are both themed to Dark Forest, I think they will both be solid additions. I've never done COMPOUND, and haven't done the Tiny's Revenge version of AMT. Only one of the 5 thrill attractions I've done is Burial Grounds so this is almost a completely fresh Scarefest for me. I'm glad I didn't keep paying to do old mazes so now I actually have something to look forward to

So…

2024 Family (Free):

2024 Family (Free):

I’d argue it’s the bare minimum…

As other events have come on the scene and got better and better, yet again Alton/Merlin have rested on their laurels and it feels dialed in.

I’m intrigued to see if anything is done with the corporate tent as it’s empty pre fireworks.

This event could and should be so much more but alas. I’ll still go and see what it’s like, and what the new entertainment company offering is like. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I will say the one positive is the continuation of lore building around their IPs “A dark forest story” feels like an interesting thread to pull, as you could easily see the same for the other areas of the park. Hope this continues.

Bring on HHN…

Im excited for this years scarefest ive never done one before, do you think it will be worth doing two days in October half term instead of one as i am traveling quite far.

It looks like it will be a really good year this year for Scarefest and I cant wait to try it out!
Yeah if you can get accommodation I'd definitely recommend two days as you're travelling far. October half-term is very busy.

It's worth noting that Edge of the Forest is £16 for a one-shot, with Compound and Mine Tours being £14. Makes the 3-maze combi ticket more worthwhile.

Can you not be grateful for what we have rather than envy what we don't the cost of making Scare Maze is extortionate for them.

Also with Halloween Horror Nights they are great themed mazes but not necessarily scary, UK and Europe has far scarier mazes.

Black tarp prices must be going up if building scare mazes is 'extortionate'.

Dropped a paid for thing for a free thing is an improvement. Thing is now the competition is so fierce for dedicated scare attractions that are able to go above and beyond what Towers et al can do on a daily basis why would they go overboard with it?

I’m kind of annoyed that they went with the whole cabin in the woods thing.

The theme always seemed more unique than this in my mind but I guess that happens when they fill in the gaps that were intentionally left there by the ride.

I would’ve loved it if the maze started outside and it looks like you go into heavy undergrowth or bushes then go into the building with an indoor for outdoor but thats just my personal preference.
