[2025 onwards]: Camp Resort Expansion - Silver Lake City

Michael Mack has confirmed that YULLBE is moving to Silver Lake City, as we already heard further up the thread. Was surprised to see that it's moving, as opposed to being a new location, with the current location next to Krønasår closing on 30th June 2025.

Makes sense though as nearer to the park and should see more footfall, interestingly though, mentions that YULLBE GO is moving... Which hints that YULLBE PRO is no more post June?

Thomas Mack has confirmed that the new hotel/guest house opening at Silver Lake City next year will be called Riverside Western Lodge.

Here's a closer look at the photos depicting the model of the whole area:

It just all looks incredible!

Yes the bar is this year, with the onsite brewery to follow next year with the guest house. I suspect the brewery will be in collaboration with Brauwerk Baden.

A bar at Silver Lake is much needed, it will be nice to be able to stay for a drink down there after having some food.

Very much looking forward to checking out the area with my wife and son at the end of June, booked Diner Station and thought it would be nice to check out the new restaurant, but what with that, the Wild Horse bar, the kids play area and the mini golf, I think we'll be spending the most, if not all of our first night there for sure...

Interestingly the model above seems to show an extended caravan area in place of the current camping location. Do we know if this is moving or are they removing camping from their offering?

So not seen this mentioned, but the Preview for the Silver Lake City that was in Wild Horse Bar is now in a marquee / gazebo to the left of the bar.

Currently in Diner Station, and I'll share photos of these shortly 👍🏼

After a couple of visits to Silver Lake over the last week, I had a few observations: -

- the Wild Horse Bar is really well done. It’s larger inside than I expected and also has an outdoor seating area, which was regularly packed whilst the inside was empty. Drinks prices are (for the Europa range) at the top end.

- the changes are so extensive to the main entrance pathway that it took a while to get your bearings. It really is a huge transformation already.

- the new kid’s playground is a welcome addition.

- bull rides are now €2.50

- the crazy golf is, I’m afraid to say, both poorly designed and badly executed, to the point of seeming unfinished. There are exposed wires everywhere, ducting popping out of the ground, badly maintained surfaces full of bark chipping, misaligned features, some fairly uninspiring holes, badly set levels (meaning your ball bounces up where it shouldn’t) and a general total confusion around where you are supposed to aim (getting the ball where you would expect it to create an advantage often does the reverse).

- to add to the crazy golf woes, the positioning of the new cabins directly on that crazy golf course is a mad idea. To have people constantly wandering past your balcony and bedroom window is not going to appeal to many people.

- audio around the resort has seen an upgrade. It’s now consistent, with new speakers in many places at a decent volume, even if it’s a little more country and western, than duelling banjos.

- the road between the Saloon and Diner Station, which one would expect to have been printed concrete, is unfortunately just tarmac. Hopefully that will be replaced when construction completes, but I’m not convinced it will be.

- Diner Station itself exceeded my tepid expectations. It’s now the best value buffet at the Resort and the food is good quality for what it is. The theming is pretty good too, representing a train station, including ticket office, waiting room and even the train carriages.

- the place itself was as busy as I’ve ever seen it - probably a product of the increased capacity from the new cabins. It created a real buzz, although it does perhaps detract from the sometimes peaceful setting around the lake. That’s probably a personal preference thing.

- after a bit more digging, I was also able to clarify exactly what the new brewery is/ where it’s located. Artwork in the Mack Bank shows a separate bar as the brewery and the drinks menu in Diner Station confirms the beer is coming soon. The brewery seems to start brewing this year, at least based on the signs, but the associated bar will open with the hotel in 2026.

Apparently theres a toilet issue with campers, resulting in people shitting in bushes. Yeah not fine.

34mins in on this vid
Can anyone speak German to translate this fully, I'm supposed to be staying there in 4 weeks with 2 kids so really need to know what is going on here.

EDIT - Just found YouTubes translate button, it doesn't sound like a great situation, does anyone know how far the walk actually is?

The Wild Horse bar is a considerable size, but the patio area is relatively small. The patio is also the most popular area in good weather; the patio can be packed full with nobody inside.

Even without the additional rooms from the new hotel, the expansion of the accommodation already has significantly transformed the feel of the place. It can become very busy, especially for the first couple of hours after park close, much more so then before. I think I said a couple of months ago that whether you prefer the original more laidback feel or the current more atmospheric/hectic atmosphere is probably personal preference.

Of course the theming feels a lot more enveloping now which is nice, but i certainly agree that those additional rooms are going to change the feel of the site unrecognisably.

I will second that, we had the Diner Station booked not long after park close and the Silver Lake City area was very busy. Not to an uncomfortable degree but enough to make getting photos and videos a little frustrating to get.

Just to go on a tangent, whilst we definitely most of the new changes to the area as well as Diner Station and think its a great investment to the park's restaurant line-up (plus our favourite server had hopped from Saloon to Diner Station which made our visit even better), we sadly didn't get a chance to properly visit Wild Horse Bar for a relaxed drink afterwards. Some very loud families we came across earlier had set up camp there for dinner and had let their kids run wild. The place was an unfortunate mess. Once I got some interior footage, we elected to just leave.

Can't find the posts to quote it but to update on the camping situation as we have just returned from 5 nights with our tent:

Flooding - they appear to have installed drainage along the length of the camping area, can't say for sure this wasn't there before but looks like a recent addition so hopefully in response to the flooding. We had heavy storms whilst we were there and no tents flooded.

Toilet - whilst the main toilet and shower blocks are a little distant (still less than 5 mins walk so not the end of the world) they have installed a new (possibly temporary) toilet block behind the reception building at the end of the camping area, this doesn't have showers but is perfect for that midnight pee run.

Building Noise - They warn about this at every point of booking so I was concerned and I guess it depends what stage they are at, they do start at 6:30 on the dot though we couldn't hear the building work itself from the camping area but the trucks do go past the otherside of the hedge and can be noisy. I usually wake around that time anyway so didn't bother me.

We loved Diner Station and Wild Horse (had burgers one night and pizzas the next), really nicely themed and a good atmosphere when we were there. My biggest issue was that pizzas are now the only budget option for food with the fast food seemingly closed completely in Silver Lake (though still exists on signage). When people are staying in tents, campervans and wagons to save money on hotels then 23 euros each for a burger is painful. (They were good though)

They should ensure that Cantina Amigo and the hatch are open, especially during summer and weekends.

Historically, back in the 2000s and the 2010s, you could get currywurst, bratwurst, ready-made pizzas for a fairly low price. They also did beers.

You are absolutely right that when this area offers the budget choice for travellers, there needs to be a budget choice for eating.

At least there are an increasing number of lower-priced outlets (vending machines, snack bars etc.) in the village... but not everyone wants to leave the EP bubble and, in truth, they should not need to.

Let's see what happens in 2026!
