Oakwood Discussion

I guess we can be sure the park isn’t coming back in any form
What makes you say this? As much as some rides have been removed, much of the park is still currently in very salvageable condition if someone did want to take it over and presented a more compelling and realistic proposition than RLP. That’s particularly the case if Aspro are keeping the grass cut, keeping the electricity on and such as rumoured.

It’s also not like the park is sat on prime land for development. It’s miles away from anywhere, so the number of alternative uses for the land is probably very limited.

Of course, though, the longer the park sits abandoned for, the less salvageable it becomes. We’re currently in very early days.

Nobody is going to buy the park if the half decent hardware is gone. Reminds me of American Adventure

The only question left to answer is whether enthusiasts will bang on about Megafobia as long as they did about Knightmare. Despite writing being on the wall.

My money is on yes.
Because Megafobia was our third best coaster in my opinion. It was an airtime machine and an enjoyable woodie

It’s worth noting that the public reason for that RLP bid ending was reportedly because Aspro said the park was “not for sale”.

No matter how ambitious that RLP bid was, it does seem odd to me that Aspro point blank refused to even entertain selling to an interested buyer. They’ve reportedly been very uncooperative with anyone inquiring about Oakwood.

If I were Aspro, I’d bite off the hand of anyone willing to buy Oakwood!

It's also worth noting that the actual reason the RLP 'bid' ended is because thankfully, the majority of people had the common sense to see through the entire charade, and as a result they couldn't be bothered to continue the pretence.
