Legoland Windsor

Let the wild speculation begin!

Hopefully the planning application gets submitted this year and we can have the new attraction for 2028 (with the revamped 4D cinema being 2027's attraction).

It's a substantial space so you'd imagine it will be multiple attractions/facilities that end up occupying the site. A coaster of course seems like it would be the natural fit to wrap around the NinjaGo building as opposed to any kind of dark ride and whilst the last major attraction was also a coaster it will be at least 4 years in-between so not a far-fetched proposal.

Suppose outside of the coasters going to Florida and California the other options based on other recent Legoland additions would be a mack spinner ala Korea, that one is even ninjago themed as well. Or go with one of those over engineered B and M suspended coasters like a number of the new (and opening soon) legolands in Asia have.

I feel like they have to stick to the Ninjago theme, really, as @Bowser says, the rapids ride does wrap itself around the dark ride building. Presumably a new coaster would have to, somewhat.

Hopefully it's not a spinning coaster though, as Storm Chaser is relatively nearby. I think a B&M or Vekoma suspended would fit the Ninjago theme (one of the dragons), or they could just use ART Engineering's "Galacticoaster" technology outdoors.

Call me stupid, but does the park really need a 4D cinema, flying theatre, and a madhouse, they all do very similar things? Surely that cinema building could be better off being used for something else?

As for a coaster, I doubt they’ll go the route of getting an inverted wing coaster with Chessington and already nearby, so my best hope is probably a Zierer ESC like Polar X-Plorer, hopefully a bit larger like Force-One. This is certainly a possibility given the frequency at which Merlin has recently worked with Zierer.

Not stupid but they already have 4 rollercoasters that arguably do “similar” things so not sure that argument holds much weight.

Personally i think they’re substantially different and actually those 3 are my sons 3 favourite attractions in the park!

I certainly wouldn’t be advocating for the loss of indoor attractions either.

Looking at Viking River Splash's layout

My original suggestion was a terrain family wooden coaster although I'm thinking now, it's possible that it could be a combination of Galacticoaster, the Airboat Flat Ride and a Trackless Dark Ride

Considering that this would be part of Legoland's ambition to go 365, it would be fantastic 😊

Quite simply go for a coaster station at the top of the hill, use the land to its advantage, disembark at the bottom, separate quelling to use as people mover back up the lift hill…. It would add capacity to the hill train for park close ….

Soft play / cafe hybrid? And here I was thinking this was a UK-leading visitor attraction, rather than the local farm centre fun barn 😂
Europa Park, Efteling, Toverland, Chessington and many many more parks have "soft play" facilities with cafe/bar for the adults.
They are a very welcome addition for families with young children who are getting tired from walking around large themeparks and something Alton and Legoland Windsor could really do with adding.

Mixed first day for Legoland.

The park generally looked pretty fresh! There were noticeable a lot of new figures around to the point even my wife noticed and was impressed. Lots had been painted and people were still painting.

Someone must read my posts as they finally moved the entrance and you actually come in under the big new arch now, hooray!

It was very busy too, all the restaurants had long queues. The former Fish and Chip shop in Mythica is now... something else. Curry maybe?

Haunted House was on good form, all the lights were working for the first time in a while.

Miniature Speedway was advertised to open late... which it did... and promptly closed again following a lift hill evacuation. It did eventually reopen later afternoon.

SkyLion was still down 2 benches.. I'm almost positive it was like that at Halloween and they closed it over Christmas for maintenance as a result. So that either didn't happen or failed.

4D cinema evidently on its last legs. Was weirdly open from 1030-12 then 230 to close. Hard to tell if this was planned or it went down for a few hours. The app and the signs are not coordinated so said different things. Spoke to a few friendly staff but it seemed to be everyones first day.

Quite a few other things opened later too.

Had a peek at the site and i think one of these options makes the most sense. With Merlin's current penchant for purchasing multiples of the same ride, a clone seems very likely (though i don't know if there are plans of the Chinese one you're referencing to see if it would fit).

I think a mack spinner could probably fit around that area the best out of the choices, galacticoaster would need a weird shaped showbuilding
Plus they can theme it to ninjago and make that area bigger
