Based purely on VIBES, I'd say that if it's just one seat out of use per train the result is a slower-moving SRQ - there will usually be at least one group of 3 per train so they can go to the affected row. If on the other hand they have more than about 3 broken seats then it becomes a benefit to SRQ and stars to slow down main queue instead.

That requires the batcher to be paying attention though.

They'd have to be sure not to allocate anybody to the broken row(s) unless / until a group of 3 came alongThat requires the batcher to be paying attention though.
The only danger is that no group of 3 may be present in the queue at the time, in which case they would either have to fill the broken row up with single riders, or scour the main queue for a group of 2

Does anyone know why the Bluey coaster is down today, and has it been down all day? I'm taking my little one tomorrow and they've been talking about it for WEEKS, they'll be gutted if they can't go on it. Octonauts also down so no coasters in action for any smaller riders it seems?

I thought Bluey was on a 15-minute queue earlier today?
I might be wrong, though

Bluey has been open today, but just not for long sadly.

How strange. I must have just happened to check the queue times at exact moment that it was open! (around 12 p.m., I think)Bluey has been opened today, but just not for long sadly.

She's still adjusting to the time zone difference, it's proving a bit of a struggle.

So basically they were locked closed, and out of action, I assume faulty. The seats closed were the second one in as you look from the front of the train from the left. So you could get two people on the right of the locked seat, and this left a vacant seat on the left which single riders were getting.

I have been periodically checking queue times for the last week and it seems that availability has been very high this week.
Everything that should be open has been, and even when there is downtime it’s minimal.

Shame it wasn't like that over the Easter holidays when most people were visiting.

All points to staffing issues. Not ready for start of season but everything seems better now they have had more time.
Its getting to the point where the opening few weeks at our parks are almost a write off where you can almost guarantee poor availability and operations.
Thankfully this doesnt impact me at all as I dont tend to visit any UK park before the first bank holiday in May.

I remember speculating that this might have been part of the reason why Alton Towers didn't want to launch Bluey on opening day (especially after the Toxicator fiasco last year)Its getting to the point where the opening few weeks at our parks are almost a write off where you can almost guarantee poor availability and operations.
It probably wasn't the main reason, but AT are probably aware that opening days at many theme parks have gone poorly in recent years
(This isn't exactly the same thing, but arcades in the 1980s and 1990s were a testing ground of sorts for games, so that they could be tweaked and improved before their release on home computers; I think opening weekend at AT has also become a rehearsal of sorts for the main season ahead)

It isn't.
The mine train is still closed, as are the rapids.
So I suppose it is down to how you define "should".
Good weather weekends at the end of April are not "early season".

To be fair I think they meant that everything advertised as being open has had ok uptime.

Anything that “should” be open as per the ride availability page.
I thought that was obvious.
I forgot only negativity was allowed here.
