Mini European Road Trip, Including Europa Park
21st - 30th October
Myself and Dave are visiting EP for Horror Nights this October, and have decided to add a few more parks in to the mix and make a bit of a road trip out of it.
We will be visiting Toverland, Phantasialand for 2 days & Tripsdrill, with the possibility of a few hours stop off at Walygator on the way home. There is of course the possibility of throwing an Alpine Coaster in to the mix too.
I know Europa Parks Horror Nights are an event that a few of us like to visit, and no doubt some people have already made plans, but we are just inquiring as to whether anyone would like to join us for all or part of this little jaunt we have planned. There should be two spaces available in the car for anyone that wishes to tag along, though obviously must be people we know fairly well.
Our initial plan is :-
Friday 21st October Ferry or Eurotunnel to Calais/Dunkirk circa 20:00
Accommodation within 20 mins drive of either terminal.
Saturday 22nd Travel to Toverland, with a day at Toverland. Park is open until 23:00.
Accommodation nearby.
Sunday 23rd Drive to Phantasialand. Day at Phantasialand. Possible on resort accommodation.
Monday 24th Second day at Phantasialand. At park close, head towards Tripsdrill and overnight accommodation.
Tuesday 25th Tripsdrill. Probably ½ a day. Would be looking at heading towards Gutach early afternoon and squeezing in the Alpine Coaster there, although this closes at 17:00. Overnight accom will be in Gutach, which is an hour from Rust.
Wednesday 26th until Sunday 30th Europa Park (4 days on park, and probably 2 visits to Horror Nights).
Accommodation in Rust. Be advised we have already booked accommodation here, but we should be able to amend it for anybody who travels with us. The accommodation is Ferienwohnung Tischler.
There is also a possibility of paying a visit to Holiday Park for a few hours on the Saturday to sample the delights of EGF
Sunday 30th Set off early morning to travel home, with the possibility, to be confirmed, of a few hours stop off at Walygator Parc, seeing as we pass nearby.
Ferry/Eurotunnel will be for late evening, around 19:00-20:00
Costs per person for whole trip :-
Accommodation (Based on 2 sharing: EP Accom based on 4 sharing)
Circa £240. Only EP accom has been booked so far, which is pay on arrival. Will be looking to book accommodation for the rest of the trip around June/July depending on availability.
Travelling Costs (Based on 4 sharing)
Excluding UK travel and tolls & car park fees, will be around £30 per person. This is for petrol only. There will be additional costs for UK travel depending on where pick up location is.
Ferry (based on 4 sharing) £23. Will also look into Eurotunnel Prices.
Park tickets (with EP Pass) £70
Park tickets (without EP Pass) A lot more. With 4 days at EP would be advisable to get an EP pass anyway.

Should be looking around £400 + Spends for whole trip if you have an EP Pass
Planning on booking Ferry/Eurotunnel around June, so would need any confirmation then for anyone wishing to take a space in the car for the whole trip. Priority will be given to those people we have met before and know fairly well.
