some of you probably wll have heard of these. i've been on two (different types), the main one (called "Gravity") being at Hangloose, at the Eden Project in Cornwall. have you been on one of these? if so, which one, where is it, and what was it like?

There's something similar on one of the Blackpool piers (south??) Except you don't sit on it you're strapped in lying face down instead and you swing out over the sea

yes, that's one of the more extreme ones, like this one, Vertigo at Oakwood (not sure if I'd go on this one!):

I think these are more commonly referred to as a "skycoaster".

I went on one of the 300ft ones in Orlando, it was insane! Expensive though so sort of those "do it once" type experiences.

yes, the bigger ones are referred to/called "Skycoasters".

The Skycoaster in Orlando (the worlds biggest) is quite an experience as myself and @Sazzle can testify! The adrenaline rush is something else, probably because you're pondering death for the minute or so before you drop!

:)

Or just admire the nice view. How I tried to deal with it. Lol.

Isn't that the one that's now at Oakwood?
Never done one myself. They always seem to be an upcharge attraction.

The Oakwood model is 100 or 150ft I think, the American Adventure model was 200ft and they both existed simultaneously at one time.

The Orlando 300ft model genuinely had me questioning my life at the top...!! Skycoaster as a company who install the attractions and certify the operators have an impeccable safety record, though this is difficult to consider when you're hanging precariously in the air by a vest!

There's also one at Antibesland in the South of France. Never been brave (or rich enough) to go on it, though.

I was lucky (or stupid?) enough to have a free pass for the huge 300ft beast in Orlando. There's no way I'd have paid to re-colour my underwear and have a heart attack. Free, or not at all ;)
