Park Map

Yes it is. :)

I'm surprised it stayed on the map for so many years tbh. Wouldn't surprise me if some guests went looking for it!

Here it is on the map for Laura or anyone wondering where it was on the map (far right):

Amazing, thank you! Weird request I know but it was bugging me!

Massive thread bump here, but might as well use existing topic.

Year after year I hope we get a new map design, instead we get this botched stuff. Theres at least three different graphical styles going on here. Everything just looks like an afterthought.

I feel theres only so long you can use the same design before the park changes so much, it no longer looks right with extra additions. Take 2013 for example. Two years after the new 2011 style (which had its flaws but at least it was cohesive) sub terra, ice age, smiler etc. were added, and it still just about held up. Come 2014 with cbeebies land & removal of flat rides, it started to look botched. Same goes for the 2008 style which actually looked nice through all its renditions. Any further though & it wouldn't have worked.

The most resilient was the 2005 style. It's isometric design style allowed for easy editing & moving of paths, rides & attractions without ruining the aesthetic. I suppose it was a "drag & drop" sort of map. You could just pick something up & move it elsewhere. The style was a bit bland though, so its finding the happy medium.

Thoughts on this iteration & past/possible future styles?

:)

Whilst the Wicker Man path has vanished from the map, the path from Haunted Hollow to FV has remained. Hopefully it will remain open as I've always found it pretty useful, particularly during Scarefest/Fireworks when without it the only way into and out of FV at night is via Gloomy Wood

How long before someone starts selling the new maps on fleabay for a fiver each?

I'm guessing that it's people that collect, but don't want to pay to visit the parks?

Or people who want to collect but can’t visit the park due to other commitments. Personally, I don’t see anything wrong with selling things like park maps online. At the end of the day, if people are happy to buy them, I.e. if the demand is there, why not?

I mean, morally... Nothing?

Legally? You're making profit off of another companies intellectual property, The parks do actually remove a large proportion of these listings as it's an issue of profit protection.

'Profit protection is any business activity specifically designed to reduce preventable losses'

Intellectual property aside, they give the maps away for FREE! Then people decide to sell those maps which the park print many thousands of for the purpose of giving away for FREE! How are they reducing preventable losses? They are not. The loss has already been accounted for when printing the maps and them knowing the maps will be free.

In this specific case, using the profit protection nonsense just sounds like a smoke screen for corporate greed, as they don't like someone even making even a few quid off their backs.

There is no conceivable way that by stopping someone selling maps online, they are protecting their own profits. As they do not sell maps. So there is no profit to protect. End of.

Which profits are they protecting? What are you talking about?
