I was also under the impression that Towers have a rule that means rides cannot be dispatched with only one person.

I have had this scenario on Oblivion where I was told that they couldn’t let the ride go with one person and they needed to wait for at least one more.

Should've put a staff member on it

Should've put a staff member on it

Another guest arrived at the station about a minute later so it wasn’t really an issue.

They probably don’t have spare staff hanging around who can just jump on a ride. Everything is staffed minimally especially on a quiet day like this was.

How has the smiler gone from 40 to 20 when wicker man is 120

It's probably worth taking any queue times with a pinch of salt right now. There will currently be a significant amount of guesswork going on, even more so than normal.

The park are three days into a new regime, where it will be excessively difficult to know how many people are in the queue lines, let alone knowing how many guests will be on each train ahead of dispatch. The queues will all now be filled with a random number of gaps of between 0 and 2m, so it will be more or less impossible for them to guess how many people are currently queueing. Equally each train can dispatch fully loaded or with as little as a quarter of it's regular load (on a ride like The Smiler or Nemesis).

Well the reliability has been diabolical for the smiler. Up and down constantly on Saturday, down most the day sunday and down now already today

I've just read that back and realised how ridiculous that sounds, I had just woken up in fairness :tearsofjoy:

The point kind of stands but tacky is definitely the wrong word! They will avoid anything that could make the public feel remotely uncomfortable on a ride. Sitting next to a sandbag would perhaps make guests question the safety of the coaster.

You can't go on any coasters at towers on your own, that's been in place for many years.
What the??!!

I often go on my own and ride ALL the coasters - that's why i was asking what differences there are now due to the regulations regarding single riders

He means they can’t dispatch trains with only one rider.

He means you can't have the train to yourself alone, not go alone on a train with others.

Can they not just give a yes or no answer....

Me: Hi, can you confirm if for the rides requiring masks if it also includes the queue lines or if it's just the ride itself.
Alton: Hi Gregory, we require you to wear a face mask on the rides that are mandatory to wear a face mask and we recommend that you wear your face mask across the park as much as possible.

On the ride: masks mandatory.

In the queue line: masks recommended.
That's what I'm trying to get an official answer on, I'm trying to build up my tolerance of masks so clarity on that rules helps.

Have you contacted your GP and asked if you can get some form of medical exemption? If not, I believe the requirement is face coverings, so may be a bandanna or something it little looser would be more your thing?

I started meditating with a face covering and got used to breathing through it better and keeping calm. If you haven't tried it, it may be worth a go. Good luck!

I could easily do so, but I want to do the right thing and wear one.
For various reasons I want to avoid social conflict as I'm currently prone to freezing if that occurs.

Depends on the risk assessment on each ride.
Icon at the Beach, wear a mask in queue...other coasters, only in station.
Risk assessments are ongoing processes, subject to alteration due to events, and individual to each ride.
In the current circumstances, rules will change over time.
You can't expect guest services staff to go into detail about individual ride risk assessments, especially when they are subject to constant change.

Well it looks like Battle Galleons has been re added to the app today after being removed on Saturday and has now reopened.

They could at least clarify it in PA announcements and signage at entrances.
