TowersStreet’s Favourite Coasters of 2021

Hi all! The end of 2021 is rolling around fast; I can’t believe how quickly the year’s gone!

But before I get all sentimental, let me cut to the chase and say what that means; it’s time for me to start collating people’s coaster rankings to do TowersStreet’s Favourite Coasters of 2021! I’ve been doing this little exercise since 2018, and I do apologise for my lateness in starting the poll this year (I’ve been a bit preoccupied with other things lately…), but as per usual, I’m back to find out what the site’s favourite coasters are for yet another year!

If you don’t know how this works, let me fill you in. If you wish to participate in my poll, you need to either post your current top 10 coasters in this topic or PM it to me, if you don’t want it to be seen publicly. You have until 31st December 2021 at 11:59pm to post your lists, and once that time has elapsed and the new year of 2022 is upon us, I will begin calculating the results, and while I wouldn’t want to put a firm date on when I will have the results ready by (I don’t make promises I can’t keep), I usually aim to have them done as close to the start of the new year as possible (let’s hope I don’t repeat my mistake from 2020’s poll, where I completely forgot until something like 20th January… in 2018 and 2019, I did have them done on 1st January or 2nd January).

So if you’d like your opinions counted towards TowersStreet’s Favourite Coasters of 2021, get posting your lists; New Year’s Eve isn’t far away! (And once again, I apologise for my lateness in posting the thread…)

Sorry to triple post, but I have compiled this year’s results! And they’re interesting, to say the least!

Admittedly, the more limited sample size than previous years may have had some role in producing different results to what you’d typically expect, but I still think the results are pretty interesting, personally! In 2021’s poll, 4 members ranked 30 different coasters, and without further ado, TowersStreet’s Top 10 Favourite Coasters of 2021 are as follows:

2. Mako at SeaWorld Orlando (B&M, 2016, Final Score 1)
3. Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point (RMC, 2018, Final Score 1)
4. Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa (B&M, 1996, Final Score 1.5)
5. Helix at Liseberg (Mack Rides, 2014, Final Score 1.75)
6. Taron at Phantasialand (Intamin, 2016, Final Score 1.75)
7. Lech Coaster at Legendia (Vekoma, 2017, Final Score 2)
8. Icon at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (Mack Rides, 2018, Final Score 2)
9. Wodan at Europa Park (GCI, 2012, Final Score 2.25)

So, those are TST’s Favourite Coasters of 2021! Some very interesting results this year; I never thought SteVe would get knocked off the top spot in 2021, but Zadra somehow managed it!

If you don’t know how I calculate this each year; each ride’s score is calculated by dividing its mean ranking by the number of lists it’s in.
