There's rumours that these are B&M, because they look like B&M, but that's not confirmed. But if they are B&M, this could become a very lucrative sideline for them - replacing crappy old hypercoaster trains! They could sell a couple of dozen all over the world!

Edit: bloody hell! They are from B&M! The Google Translate of the official website confirms it! I never expected to see them doing this in a million years! The last time they did trains for a coaster that wasn't one of their own was Psyclone in 1991!

In fact, is this the first time since 1991 that they've been involved in any project other than building and opening a new ride? (not counting conversions or modifications to previously built rides).

If only we could get these trains for PMBO...

Oooh interesting! Probably a very good move by B&M, I'd imagine there will be a fair amount of demand for their trains. Looks strange seeing B&M trains with seating that is two across though!

I'm not sure. B&M installed all of the proxy sensors and what not onto Loch Ness Monster at BGW as originally is didn't have them. B&M have basically taken the coaster as one of their own now. However I do not know when they started working on it, I'd imagine it was after 1991.

:)

Am I the only person who finds it weird that the train has 2 seats per row, not use to seeing it from B&M =P (Excluding the wingriders of course)

Still though, I think it's great news.

Even if B&M do make more trains for old hypers, the Steel Dragon trains will be unique simply because it's the only Morgan hyper to use outside track. All of the others use Arrow style inside track which would be new territory for B&M and could produce some "interesting" looking trains. I'm not sure there'd be room for B&M's massive wheel sets and the gauge is really narrow so PMBO could be off the cards. In any case, I don't think B&M would want their trains on anything so terrible.

Anyway, this is surprising news, it'll be interesting to see if B&M do any more outside projects.

Unless they're planning on replacing it totally (in which case that's probably a better idea), I think Manhattan Express could probably benefit from B&M trains.

I also think Shockwave at Drayton might benefit from some B&M stand-up trains. They look much nicer and would improve the ride quality. The box track would also be easier to work with.

In fact, there are probably quite a few coasters out there that would benefit from B&M trains. :p

But the Giovanola trains are essentially B&M Stand Up V.1 trains! You can't get rid of those! :p

From what I had heard though when the trains were overhauled and re-painted the other year most of the wheel assemblies were replaced with B&M parts. How much truth there is to that I don't know, but it's possible I guess.

That and their boxy looks are literally their only redeeming features! :p To actually ride in, they're horrible! xD

Pfffft, they're fiiiiiiiiine :p

With regards to PMBO I'd have thought the fact it seems to munch through track in no time whatsoever would be the first thing to sort! I doubt even B&M are that good ;)

The bolded bit can be said of ANY Stand-Up coaster...

So the B&M variants aren't slightly comfier, smoother and offer more reliable restraints which don't take numerous attempts to keep locked? :p

B&M's are better, but they're still not good! :p Though it can be said that they are amazing in every way when compared to a Togo stand-up coaster! ;)

Someone really needs to reinvent the stand-ups at some point. The current design was made in the late 80s early 90s, it's no wonder it's not very good. I'm sure if A company tried to make a new design now they could come up with something much more pleasing than a bicycle seat with an OTSR.

I've been on a B&M and an Intamin stand-up and I don't think the problem is companies not getting the concept right... I just don't think the concept works very well to begin with.

I hope other companies don't give it a go, because standing up on a rollercoaster simply isn't a very pleasant or interesting sensation. Riddler's Revenge should be AMAZING when you look at its layout - and probably would be with sit-down/floorless trains - but it's very 'meh'. If B&M can't get it right, I doubt anyone can!

I don't know I sort of agree with Jeremy's theory (RCP) that the standing up sensation offers a more dynamic ride due to the distance between you and the track. It's just that none of the current designs really take advantage of this, instead having fairly standard elements copied from sit down rides.
