A quick mention about promoting TowersStreet

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask a few things from everyone after a few things we've seen online since TowersStreet launched.

Promoting the site
I know many of you are keen to promote TowersStreet, and that's great. However, please refrain from posting links randomly on the walls of parks and fan sites on the likes of Facebook. It tends to look spammy, and can often do more harm than good. Feel free to share links on your own timeline/wall, or on your own pages if you operate one. I'm sure many of you will be keen to have as many people as possible participating in the community, but this is something that will take time to build, and rest assured the team have plans in place to do this over time. If you're not sure whether to post something, feel free to run it by us first - we'll be more than happy to help.

Seen something on another site regarding TowersStreet?
Finally, we'd also appreciate it if you could let us know if you see an issue such as content being copied from TowersStreet onto other sites or Facebook pages. Getting involved yourself can often be misconstrued as you representing the site in an official capacity, which can again cause issues. There's usually a member of the team online pretty much 24/7, so we'd much rather you drop us a PM or contact us via e-mail should you see something which you feel we need to take a look at.

If anyone has any questions about the above, shout up in this topic or drop me a PM privately if you'd rather ;D

Thanks for the info Craig, might be worth putting a link at the top of the forum if possible so people dont miss it!

Oh, whoops.

I'll stop that now. :p

So, it will be interesting to see how the site takes off then!
I'm expecting a slow start, but in a few months, people will be flocking to the site!

I wouldn't call the start slow! Over 5000 posts in just over a week!

However, a fast start would be expected as people moved from the 'other' site. The challenge will be sustaining visitors while attracting new members from places like Google. I have no doubt that that the team have plans for this though!

Stupid question that I've probably missed the answer to somewhere... is there a TS bookface and twitter page/account/group?
