So, I was at work when I noticed some new people have moved in next door. Naturally I was intrigued so googled them and found that they'd done some work for Towers at some point... Then I saw this.

So the question here is: was Scarefest ever going to be called "Fright Fest" And if so why did they change it (possibly because of Six Flags - Fright Fest ? )

I have just looked at the website you say the images are from and there is no mention of AT at all.

Well, that's how all the old maps looked... I kinda like the Isometric feel to it.

The map looks quite cool. A busier version of the old isometric 'Habbo' style maps that the park used for a few years.

Interesting nonetheless.

Think it was 2007 but did they have fright lights in where the queue is for TOTT and sanctuary.

But I can remember the images but not fright fest but I could be wrong

Looking at an alternatives maybe? It was just after Tussaud's era logo on it.

Might have been one of the early names for the event and dropped either because there is already an event with the same name or they just didn't like the sound of it. For a UK market 'Frightfest' sounds more adult orientated than 'Scarefest', so maybe they thought the latter would appeal more to a wider audience.

Those pictures though were used for Scarefest's advertising in 2007 and the design of that is exactly the same as the 2007 event.

I imagine it's exactly the same as the shit rita advert being called Carmilla.

FrightFest could be easily mixed with Fright Nights, which obviously is a different brand of offering. Towers took a step away, scarefest just sounds.. better.

It's everything that they did do and market, however name different.

Rita was temporarily named Camilla when she married Prince Charles. It was a PR stunt.

Ahh I remember Camilla fondly. Gotta love Alton with their PR stunts!

I remember this, that POS was on park at the start of the '07 season for towers "Halloween Comeback" but was eventually changed to Scarefest to give it a more family feel.
