Six Flags: General Discussion

So when can we strap a tower to something (doesn't have to be a coaster)? :p

Well, BPB could do it with the Ice Blast or Big One lift hill structure (and get rid of the awful S&S system whilst they're at it), however I think they'd probably end up strapping a fountain to it tbh.

Err... GUYS?! I think you're forgetting about RAJIN' CAJUN, the thrilling new ride from Zamperla going into Six Flags America! :D

I love that trailer, the juxtaposition of "breathtaking drops" over a shot of what could only be a 10ft drop is quite frankly hilarious.

Oooh, don't think anyone's spotted this!

Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom getting what I think is the second Mack Twist & Splash! :D

Second? There's been a fair few sold. They're just at parks in China so most people don't notice.

Will Great Adventure be the first park in the SF chain to have its own resort hotel...?

???? - Onsite Resort Hotel - Planning - (11/27/13) Adding a resort hotel to the Six Flags Great Adventure property has long been a dream for many over the years. As we’ve seen the torch of ownership and control of the company pass from one hand to another over the past couple couple of decades, the idea of adding an on-site resort has been revived, killed, and revamped more times than I can count. This latest video news report from “Today in America” about Jackson, NJ talks briefly with Six Flags Great Adventure’s President, John Fitzgerald about their latest attempt to revive the concept in order to allow the Six Flags property to become a multi-day vacation destination. Looks like the plan is back on again, and since the Jackson area is essentially devoid of other hotels, it sounds like an idea that should not only work, but should be a success if built at the right scale.

Presumably it'd be an 'Animal Lodge' style affair to fit in with that massive new safari attraction they just built. I would have thought they'd need a little more variation (i.e. dark rides) for it to become a proper multi-day park though...

Is there much point in Six Flags attempting to build a hotel? They are hardly known for their immersive theming, as it is. I say they should just leave it to the experienced cheap-but-cheerful hotel chains, that are already around.

Perhaps I'm being a little harsh but, when I think of Six Flags I just see concrete, car parks, faded paint jobs etc.

Parts of SFGA are surprisingly pleasant and themed. Kingda Ka, El Toro, Western area and Dark Knight area is pretty decent.

Just a shame some areas are the complete opposite. Nitro and Superman are truly, hideous.

Pretty much the majority of American parks, bar the faded paint jobs, as they tend to keep on top of that quite regularly...

But very few American parks have a sort of charm that we would associate with the UK/European parks...

Zumanjaro has been testing, Theme Park Review have uploaded the following video.

I'll never ride this.

Done sufficient 320' towers now to realise one thing: I just don't like them.

:)

I gotta admit, it does seem pretty terrifying, I'd love to see it up close, but I wouldn't like to be strapped into it...

Would never go on this!
I wimped out on Hurakan Condor at Port Aventura (330ft)
and only just about made it on Apocalypse at Drayton Manor (117ft)

It's pretty much the same height as the one at SF:MM. I think there's about 10ft difference.

Towers this high are just... Well... Crap inducing.

Think id probably love them but I don't think I would have the balls.
