Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon
There are already four or five empty spaces where flat rides could go, I'd rather they used those first before removing more attractions.- jon81uk

Paultons Park: General Discussion
Mead Hall, part of How to Train your Dragon Land at Epic Universe mainly features Scandinavian food like Swedish meatballs and salmon as well as other BBQ style dishes like big sausages, so this would be a good start https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/gb/things-to-do/dining/mead-hall/menu.html- jon81uk

Epic Universe has larger free lockers than the other parks, they are square rather than long, I got a standard rucksack in. The changable UK weather might be an issue as you need more layers, but I had a cold week in Orlando so was carrying a hoody and stuff around (hence the rucksack). At...- jon81uk

Escape from Gringotts is not a new ride. Universal have learnt from this and for Velocicoaster and all rides at Epic Universe they have large double sided locker areas towards the end of the queue. Epic also uses face recognition so you don't need to use the barcode. Hagrid's although a new...- jon81uk

Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon
I do think it would be a mistake to remove the rapids. Yes there are concerns about this style of ride following what happened at Drayton Manor but its still a good family ride, there aren't many of them in the UK and Alton Towers is a good version. Plenty of other spaces in the park that could...- jon81uk

I disagree that the lockers harm the experience. At Epic Universe they improved it, before getting to the ride platform there is a secure location to store your belongings for free, no faffing about crossing the platform to put things on a shelf or similar.- jon81uk

2026: General Discussion
The issue is more around the fact minimum wage has increased far quicker than general wages. Therefore people that should be receiving significantly more than the minimum, aren't.- jon81uk

2026: General Discussion
I think it’s more that the pay seems low for a role with managerial responsibility. Yes nurses should be paid to reflect the skill and learning of their work but the issue here is that people being put in charge of other people are not significantly better paid than those they have to manage...- jon81uk

Depends if the residents have moved out yet. I expect just as likely to see earthworks on the rest of the site, once all the security & safety hoarding is done- jon81uk

Paultons Park: General Discussion
No it’s the equivalent of the hotel stating “en suite bathroom” on every room even though they don’t have any rooms not en suite. Or “tea and coffee making facilities” on every room type even when all rooms come with that facility. Both of these are standard practice on hotel booking sites to...- jon81uk

They list free parking as a perk with a standard ticket too. Don’t think they are pretending it’s annual passes only, just that all tickets to Paultons get free parking.- jon81uk

Paultons Park: General Discussion
I disagree, with the entry prices as they are I think an additional charge to park would be a big negative. Would actually be easier for Merlin to do the opposite and add £3-4 onto every ticket price and abolish parking charges, they'd get a lot of good reviews for removing parking charge and...- jon81uk

But Despicable Me is a film about an evil villain adopting three girls, the four main characters are an adult male and three girls. It’s overall a pretty generic kids film not particularly skewed to either gender. I don’t think there is any evidence to say they won’t let alone strong evidence.- jon81uk

But thats the point, the teenage boys don't want to visit Disney parks for those attractions and the parks and those rides are still incredibly popular. The fact some attractions won't have boys wanting to ride them isn't a reason not to build them. Teenagers won't want to go to the Octonauts...- jon81uk

Would teenage boys and lads be excited by a Frozen dark ride, or a Little Mermaid one, or a Winne the Pooh one? That hasn't stopped any of these rides being very popular at Disney. Why should the fact teenage boys might not want to ride a Wicked ride mean it shouldn't be built? Teenage boys...- jon81uk
