    2026: General Discussion

Battle Galleons should have a live actor on each boat this week as Sea dog Starkey's Sailing School. Don’t think the guns are on (but I’ve not watched any vlogs, just looked at the AT website)

    2026: General Discussion

This is effectively what Alton Towers offered at Christmas and half-term for many years. No passholders and not always day tickets, Christmas and Feb half term was a boutique low volume event for hotel guests only to fill hotel rooms in the Winter. They then expanded the half term event and...

OK yes in the first post I suggested banning all passholders, but in later posts I also suggested utilising blockout dates, as Merlin did in the past, to restrict it to the higher tier passholders, to ensure they are getting higher income. But the revenue per admission from an annual passholder...

    2026: General Discussion

Paultons barrier to annual pass ownership is the overall fee for the pass coupled with restrictions on entry, their cheapest pass is £172, so £43 more than Merlin but for a single park and you won't get entry this week for that price, need the £290 premium pass for entry at half term. They are...

If "90% of the attractions are closed" then charging half the normal day ticket price seems reasonable, or are you also arguing that £27 (with a 25% off code) to £39 for a day ticket in main season is also too cheap? I'd probably say that anything under £35 is too cheap for main season, but £18...

Which is why it should have been done proactively not retrospectively? The previous tiers of passes had a lot more blockout days, it would have been quite possible to keep the silver pass and discovery pass with a block on half term and only allow platinum passholders in on these days with...

    2026: General Discussion

Given passholders can now come in they don't really cap the numbers like they used to when it was hotel guests only. Yes they could cap passholders being able to book, but do they actually check and enforce those bookings anyway? I do wonder if it would be better for AT to block passholders...

Existential Crisis? Towers and it's future

Spinball is two rows of two seats in a continuiosly moving station, its much each for them to shout over to get someone into a seat. Nemesis has bays with airgates for batching so really needs single rider on the load side so they can batch into the rows before the train gets into the station.

    Eurovision 2026

There is of course a lot of controversy and boycotts around the song contest this year, but the UK have just announced our entry. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/feb/17/look-mum-no-computer-uk-entry-eurovision-2026 I'm not much of a YouTube viewer so not familiar with Look Mum No...

Also today is probably the only dry weather day this week, its likely to rain most of the rest of the week. This is likely making it busier today than it will be later in the week?

    Lightwater Valley

A good chunk of our historic rides are still operating or in situ. Blackpool Pleasure Beach almost is a museum, although I do think they could of had a display of old ride cars there, but maybe seeing the Mouse would be too emotional.

    2026: General Discussion

Don't forget its not really Battle Galleons right now, its got a different plot without the water guns, so many people will be doing it because its a "new" attraction to them.

    Favourite Pub?

In London I'm actually a big fan of most Wetherspoons, decent beer and cider selection, reasonable prices, no music to shout over, good priced food if needed. Sam Smiths is no longer cheap in London and sometimes a weird atmosphere. My other favourite London drinking place isn't a pub, but...

    Pleasurewood Hills

Maybe they just want a fun day out? You don't need to have an activity as a hobby-level to enjoy doing it. Many people enjoy going to the cinema, theatre, ten pin bowling, etc and most of those wouldn't count it as a hobby either. I watch Marvel movies but definitely do not count myself as part...

    Pleasurewood Hills

You don't need to be interested in this as a hobby or interest to go to an amusment park. The main issue is fewer people are holidaying in the UK, due to the cheap flights to Spain etc. So the days of going to a British seaside town for a few days and an amusement park as a day out as part of...

Although if they knew of plans for the building they wouldn’t have even got permission, I know at the time it had the Dungeons open, but I don’t see them ever significantly demolishing a building, rather just expanding or similar as they did when adding the lifts.
