This probably just comes down to cash flow. There may not have been a significant cost differance between renting and buying over a single year (in terms of Merlins bottom line) Any new purchases will be capitalised and amortised over 15 plus years. Maybe more depending on how long the rides...
I think size wise it will be on par with the other waterpark sizes in Orlando. It is roughly 33 acres, with Typoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach being 34 and 36 acres excluding there parking lots. Those parks or no means cramped, but looking at the plans this will certainly be on an other level...
It appears that the latest development at Universal has been revealed, here is the press release below. (Courtesy of Orlando themepark news)
"You’ve seen the cars. You’ve seen the action. And soon, you’ll be able to live it.
I’m so excited to share that one of the most popular film franchises...
I did say Probably one of the most recognisable coasters, those vertical rolls do take a good photo, also the ride is used In all of Universals adverts. And just doing a quick search, if you type in Rollercoaster into google, it's the 8th on the list, type in Orlando, its at the top, ahead of...
There will be no chance they will be re-making the ride, they are giving it a substantial retheme, its an icon and probably the worlds most recognisable coaster. Hopefully they will be moving away from the comic book style theming.
It's about time Disney sorted the Studios, and the best thing is this is only the started the process, with both Cars Land and Monstropolis getting added. Although the latter is a strong rumour it's certainly exiting time.
The only downside is that there are only limited amount of resources and...
I personally don't think disney really want to buy the rights, hence the negotiations. We don't actually know who started these rumored negotiations, that's if they are happening at all.
Let's be honest, Disney even though they could make more money from Marvel if they held the rights, are...
I think the road is a minor thing that would have improved the experience (there are many examples on that list) I personally think the two major issues are the restaurant, which is just bland, something you can see anywhere. The other is the number and size of the trees, hardly a enchanted...
Unfortunately with the way the world is going there won't be any left full stop. With Orca's being placed on the endangered list. Then people will be saying, "if only there was a large zoo/aquarium with Orca's able to breed." I know it's not nice and there living conditions have been poor for...
Let's be honest, animals around the word are being treated badly, and then the vast majority are eaten. What Seaworld is doing isn't good, but it by no means the worst thing.
I think a couple of these metal detectors pre dated that incident.
They certainly are a little OTT on safety. But then again they do have people wanting to cause harm by throwing coins and what not, which is crazy. But think they try and remove common sense out of the equation. Like all...
Dragons challenge is walk on even on busy times anyway, so with that respect it's just adding a little waiting. But that ride itself is a bit of a mystery, Universal have managed to turn the most popular coaster in the two parks with queues over an hour, to a walk on coaster.
Metal detectors have been introduced for a number of days now, and from general consensus it's not going down well.
Hulk photos
Dragons Challenge
So just to run through all those photos, new queues have been placed at the entrance of each ride, in an airport style system once you have...
