    Grime?

It's quite a shame really that such a stunning Resort, set in an abundance of natural scenery and historic landscaping is let to look like such a run down shambles all of the time. Earlier this year my grandparents visited (not your typical Sun ticket holder) they made comment after comment of...

The World of David Walliams: General Discussion

A brief overview of Cloud Cuckoo Land shows us that theres plenty of space for new ride hardware, entertainment and retail / food opportunities. The below image shows at least four spaces an outdoor attraction could reside, ignoring the space occupied by Driving School as I would assume that...

    Talbot Street Tuesday/Thursday (Picture Heavy)

Let's take a look at current Merlin theming; 13; eight years old and half the station has rotted away. CBeebies Land; four years old and already having needed extensive refurbishment each year, the worst of these is Octonauts, now on it's 3rd station rebuild...

    Talbot Street Tuesday/Thursday (Picture Heavy)

It's very much a shame how most of the Oblivion queue line currently looks, building largely stripped of their theming in place of plastic panelling, the often broken display screens, and for anyone that remembers, the original queue line shop. The theming of this was simply superb, I believe the...

Future of the Congo River Rapids

If were talking about redoing Katanga to the standard of Tiger Rock are we expecting to see long straight, themeless fences everywhere alongside shoddy theming and the merlin tick box centrepiece? I'd rather Katanga was left alone.

    Towers Loving Care

Not sure the image has loaded correctly but I noticed this recently too. The paint is coming off the barrels and the walls, surely it wouldn't cost that much to touch up? And what the hell happened to the smoke?

    Towers Loving Care

Was it 2013 under the guise of X-Sector tlc we saw the Oblivion queue buildings shamelessly clad in cheap overlapped plastic hiding the original set concrete style and probably allowing the theming beneath to rot even more?

    The Toilet Topic

Not quite sure why those plastic trash "refurbished" toilets in Mutiny Bay are getting praise... I can only think of my local council toilets in the town centre looking so poorly put together. All other places, say food restaurants, cinemas, shopping centres, airports, all have far better...

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

Please can we not give Merlin and the team of 'creatives' that come up with these brilliant ideas yet another thing to copy and paste onto all future attractions... "You have been robbed, Your money belongs to Merlin"

    Towers Loving Care

I really don’t know how anyone can tolerate the painfully screechy cinema room in Hex, you can see the people wincing at the audio. Volume is fine, lounder the better, but just sort out the screech! Replacing speakers for the the sake of it?...

    Scarefest 2017

I don't know about anyone else but is it just me that viewed Scarefest so far this year as a white light, atmosphere lacking washout? I mean come on Towers, at least put a little bit of effort into something beyond towers street and the inside of the mazes....

2018: Wicker Man - General Discussion - SPOILERS! - Part One

I couldn't remember if this had been mentioned before, but has anyone seen these ever so typical Merlin style light fittings SW8 will be having? Surely they could of recreated some of those Mutiny Bay style lights, there's dozens of them on Galleons. Instead it looks like they had a few left...

    Paultons Park: General Discussion

I've been following the construction of Lost Kingdom, and I am really impressed with what they've done so far! The rockwork and planting is especially amazing, subtle things likes the 3D signage and the weathervane on the roof show the dedication to the theming quality which I think is great.

    Ex Alton Towers theming

I believe so as a test for the steam punk / victorian 'Port Discovery' version of X Sector, as it was decided the theme tried to hard to rip off Disneyland Paris' Discoveryland.

    Ex Alton Towers theming

Talking of theming, the victorian / industrial style lights that used to shine above the Black Hole's station were retained and at least one of them was used in the Sanctuary's queue line in the Conservatory.

    2016: General Discussion

Starbucks please! But I feel it will definitely be Costa they have or a potentially less commercialised brand like Caffe Nero or Pret A Manger, proper Starbucks coffee shops seem too prestigious given the state that the rest of Alton Towers is in! :D

    2015: Alton Towers Enchanted Village

Why didn't they consider William Smith Signage? http://www.williamsmith.co.uk These guys produced the bespoke signage for the Flume and Sonic Spinball (Spinball Whizzer back then) and created some unique designs such as the Flumes queue line signage and Sonic's thick rounded signs, they seem to...

    Rollercoaster Restaurant: General Discussion

Whatever they do, they'd better keep a neon sign on top of that building, or just move the 'air' section of it to the entrance!

    Quick Questions

Could anyone point me to the name of the font they use for signage within the Splash Landings hotel and the waterpark, mainly on directional boards? It's the font used in the old Cariba Creek logo too!
