If you have 20 minutes, enjoy a tour of the Chessington of that era and how much more charm it had:

But if those signs have been there for years, they just become part of the street furniture and passers-by glaze over.
The location also isn’t the be all and end all given Wales’ tourism industry (outside Cardiff) is predicated entirely on car travel. For instance, three of the top ten most...
It’s not harsh, really.
Of course the “target” aren’t thinking about landscaping but the entire point of theme parks is that they’re immersive and give visitors a warm, fuzzy feeling subconsciously because for the time they’re inside they feel totally surrounded by that theme and “in” that...
Another triumph of LLW ugliness judging from this:

Hopefully this will be lawned in due course but for a park that was originally so pretty, how have they managed to repeatedly create such hideous...
While Universal gathers a nice head of steam, one of the last senior people left on the London Resort project - former London mayoral candidate Steve Norris - has quit and admits nothing will happen “for a while”...
Interesting comms here from TP - crucially missing out which day they’re talking about:

Sure, but they haven’t built new this year and apart from some new flooring there’ve been no discernible improvements - with woeful ride availability caused by a mix of decay and seeming disinterest in customer satisfaction (hi Aramark).
Merlin obviously aren’t going to get rid of CWOA which...

Credit to Bellewaerde for doing something different but the structure is pretty ugly.
A lot easier than it is getting to the likes of Plopsaland by public transport - trains run fairly regularly from Brussels Midi to Bierges (with one change), takes around an hour - the station is literally over the road from the park so no cabs needed.
When no-one has anything new or interesting to add to this particular point? I’d say so - there’s plenty to talk about Hyperia now the park’s open again and people can get a good look at it, but the “it’s short” chat has been going on ever since the layout appeared in the planning application...
The boss of Brean is quoted in this piece on the problems the closure of the local Pontins (now used as accommodation for workers building Hinkley Point C) is causing for the local tourist trade:

Some sort of weird Marvel overlay coming to It’s A Small World for six months next year:

A teenager was hurt on it the year before it shut then there were fire safety issues apparently which the park decided it didn’t want to put right so kept it closed - the queueline’s now used for one of the Halloween scare attractions.
Bit of an update on Astérix for the new season - they’re opening a nicely-themed star flyer this year:

The park’s apparently confirmed a new family coaster for next year too on the site of the old vintage cars.
Phantasialand’s due to reopen for the new season tomorrow but there’s a question mark about whether Taron will open with it after a worker died while carrying out maintenance:

Well worth following the rule on this - I went to a (now closed) leisure pool in France with bathing shorts and was ushered back into the changing rooms within seconds of arriving on poolside. Had to buy a pair of Speedos in the shop at great expense!
