    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2021 Discussion

I imagine it’s just getting the new system bedded in from the beginning. When I asked about entry passes for 2021, I was told they would return as soon as the capacity restrictions start to be relaxed

Yes there definitely was a “Dunk the Lady” sideshow attraction where the Big One queuelines are now. Found, as you can see, on Alamy.

This is the only coaster I’m aware of that isn’t ever mentioned from BPB. Was situated next to Zipper Dipper. 29th August 1953: A father and son enjoying a fairground ride on the pleasure beach at Blackpool. Original Publication: Picture Post - 6688 - Picture Post Television Preview: What...

Blackpool SOS to PM https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-54649958 Advanced bookings for all the attractions next week are said to be woeful, from Merlin to BPB and the Zoo. How long is this sustainable?

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

With a virtual switch on event and ride the lights cancelled, it’s going to be a weird week. Wouldn’t want to try to predict attendance

I’d take the Mouse over Icon any day. For me, BPB was the Mouse, Magnolia Cafe, Gold Mine, Monorail etc. It’s still a solid day out, but lacks of that magic it used to have. Maybe that’s just me getting old, who knows.

If you don’t want a photo on the eTicket, you can just order online and take your reference number to the Ticket Centre like the old days and they’ll issue you will a paper ticket to use at the entrance.

    Coronavirus

I’ve got to the point of actively avoiding their announcements as much as possible now. Every time I accidentally catch one of them, I feel an even greater desire to emigrate.

Sounds like they’re attempting to crowdfund this, promising future assets. I would invest myself, but I’ve had a better offer from a Saudi Prince who emailed me out of the blue.

    Drayton Manor Park

If anything, I would go with a children’s splash play area or similar. Definitely nothing significant.

I’m reliably informed you’ll be restricted to riding Infusion only, and will be tied to a seat in the Arena to ensure you watch all future editions of Hot Ice, until you plead mercy or death becomes you. I might’ve misheard. Not risking it though.

Which theme parks are you most worried about during Covid-19 lockdown?

It’d be a great shame if Wicksteed Park did close entirely. Spent many happy days there in my youth! Call me a pessimist but the skeptic in me has always expected Valhalla to reopen and be much of the same, and it turn out to be an excuse to close their most expensive ride for a year whilst...

Which theme parks are you most worried about during Covid-19 lockdown?

I think you’re focusing too heavily on a restriction on capacities that are very rarely reached, except on a handful of days each season. It may be unfortunate and frustrating for them, but not sure it’s the park killer you make it out to be. Intrigued that you see Merlin and Blackpool’s...

Which theme parks are you most worried about during Covid-19 lockdown?

Pretty sure Lightwater would be absolutely chuffed with 4k every day! Surprised that Paultons Park haven’t given an indication of opening on 4th July yet.

Which theme parks are you most worried about during Covid-19 lockdown?

These posts about a Tory government willingly throwing endless money at theme parks is beyond optimistic. They won’t do anything beyond what is being done now unless there’s serious concerns about the viability of a large sector of the economy. That theme park down the road that hasn’t made...

    The I Feel Down Topic.

Thank you @D4n - I wish you the best of luck with the teaching! I delved into teaching some years ago and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The only reason I departed the classroom in the end was an opportunity at cracking my dream job came up, and in fear of regretting it if I didn’t, I grabbed it...

    The I Feel Down Topic.

I can’t help but feel a little bewildered, lost and intimidated by the world we reside in right now. It feels a little like the planet is out of control, with sweeping pandemics, lack of credible authoritative figures, not knowing if you’ll have a job to return to in the next few weeks etc. And...

    Blackpool Pleasure Beach: General Discussion

Oh I completely agree that the Late Night events usually do bring in a pretty decent crowd, and a large majority stay until the bitter end for the fireworks, but I did spend one evening sat at FY4 having a pint (or many), and the stream of guests leaving the park from 6pm onwards was noticeable...
