Surprisingly there still seem to be a lot of the 50% off rooms up for grabs. Bit tricky to find the Friday / Saturday nights but I just got two rooms in Splash mid-week, £77.50 per couple. I've paid more than that for a Travelodge on plenty of occassions so a rare Merlin bargain.

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land I'm in the pro-blob camp as well. Easily the most inoffensive 'character' that's going to be present in this area for me! The theme is very slowly growing on me, but the colour scheme isn't. Keep having nightmares of the entire area being in the style of Rumba :/ :
