[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation

Has there been any word on the waterfalls? I assume they aren't red, but would be good to know if they are all on.

Planning a Phantasialand trip - any tips?

I thought fantissima was really excellent if you are interested in that kind of thing. Do consider it for one of the evenings.

[2024] Nemesis Reborn: Construction and Speculation

I wonder if the track is black will the station be black / red too? The track merges into the monster, and would look strange with white track like legs, or black track like legs into a white body. Think it could change the look of the station quite a bit, with the base coat being much darker.

Should Splash Mountain have been rethemed?

I think we shouldn't turn a blind eye to racism. On the other hand most people wouldn't know what the ride was themed to even after riding. I think the new theme makes a lot of sense for Disney land as it matches the area well. I think they should have come up with a different theme for...

What made The Sanctuary so special?

I think the first scene with Dr Kelman welcoming you particularly set the tone for what you were about to experience. It was very well delivered, good high quality acting. It was a bit similar to meeting the fisherman before darkest depths but I'd say much better executed. The marmaliser...

Is a Master’s degree worth it, in your view?

Hey Matt, I did a computer science degree, and graduated from my masters in computer science innovation about 6 years ago. It was a benefit when applying for graduate programs straight out of uni, it gave an edge over those who had a bachelor's of the same grade. I think for something like...

When were you last scared on a ride ?

Hurakan Condor at PortAventura recently was a big thrill that got adrenaline pumping and my hands shaking. It's really the first drop tower I've done. Nobody would go with me (also the reason I haven't done apocalypse at Drayton) and so being alone increased the thrill / scare factor. Outside...

    PortAventura: General Discussion

There has been an article posted here with a video (where staff can be seen moving furniture rather than helping people) https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/video/floodwaters-swamp-adventure-park-heavy-082107214.html

    PortAventura: General Discussion

They even restocked the bar with a trolly of booze. No dry clean clothes, towels or food. Just make sure the bar stays open.

    PortAventura: General Discussion

I've been at port aventura for the last few days staying onsite at hotel el paso. Yesterday at around 6:30pm local time there was a flash flood caused by sudden massive rain fall. This flooded the lower blocks (iguana, jaguar and others I'm sure) as well as the reception. Things started as a...

    Merlin Annual Pass

Because the system is crap. If I think maybe I'll turn up in the afternoon if it's quiet and I am free by then, I can't just turn up any more. So I pre-book a month out and no-show if the queues are too big or I'm not free, or if I decide I don't want to. This new restriction won't bother me...

    Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Seems Thorpe have updated the description for Colossus in the app.

New Indoor Theme Park in London?

I like to think it's called Energy recovery system because it gives the parents a chance for a sit down.

[2023] Rulantica: Vikingløp (RallyRacer) & Nordiskturn (lounges & food)

I expected lot more water effects on and around the ride. Although it looks like there are many cannons which is great, I would have expected more water to translate it from theme park to water park ride.

    [2022]: Josefina's Imperial Magic Journey

Some on-ride footage has been shared over on YouTube. There certainly are a lot of fountains now.

Is there anything I should know before going to Phantasia Land for the first time?

Thanks for all the info. Especially on travel. We were thinking to hire a car as it looks as though it's going to be difficult to get public transport from our hotel to the park (or at least take a lot longer than driving). But I'll check on the Deutsche Bahn app. We were planning to visit the...

Is there anything I should know before going to Phantasia Land for the first time?

Hi, I have booked hotel & flights to visit Phantasia Land. I wanted to know what do I need to know before I go? From the advice given in other threads I've planned 2 park days, but we're doing 4 nights so should be some time to experience Cologne too. Unfortunately we won't be staying on...

    2022: General Discussion

I assumed they'd rotate around the rides throughout the day, rather than having 7 live performances at once. With that assumption they wouldn't likely have someone near both Rita and Thirteen at the same time, and the same for oblivion/smiler and Nemesis/Galactica. It would be cheaper to do it...

[2024] Voltron Nevera | Mack Stryker Coaster

The latest episode of the Europa Park Story on veejoy showed some images when discussing "the future". I don't think it's anything new, but perhaps confirms rumours of a Tesla theme? Not the big reveal I think some were hoping for. There was also a flash of some red track, although I...

Screens on dark rides; what do you think of them?

One problem I have with screens in dark rides is that the brightness never seems to match with the rest of the scene. I imagine this is a challenge with the current technology, especially when using backlit screens. For example, those awful tacky pictures they put up in Duels queue line...
