2015: General Discussion
This is just getting ridiculous. I was involved in an incident last year at scarefest where medics were trying to get to a girl at the end of TotT who was having a panic attack and they knocked me into a wall. Maybe i should go to the media and tell them that i was assualted by AT Staff? Utter rubbish.

Here is an example of falling guest numbers. This school usually take two or three coaches to Alton Towers each year. However this year they only got enough people who applied to go to fill just over one coach, therefore only one coach went and five people missed out.
I'd imagine it is a similar story elsewhere. And if school trips to Alton Towers are not popular this year, schools may decide to go elsewhere on trips next year.

The more I think about it, the more I think that the park needs some serious investment and TLC over closed season. They may as well write this year off (apart from Scarefest and Fireworks) and then start afresh next year.
New marketing, new advertising, hopefully some repairs of things like the Dark Forest, a new ride perhaps too. Maybe even a new logo and branding for the whole resort?
I feel 2016 will be crucial.

The problem of course, is that the name "Alton Towers" is known to nearly every Brit and synonymous with the theme park industry and roller coasters. All those things and a whole lot more won't change that. The more I think about it, the more I think that the park needs some serious investment and TLC over closed season. The Smiler accident was brought up in a meeting at work this morning (not by me). It's going to take a long time for the name of the park not to be so easily associated with The Smiler crash and it likely will continue to be so for at least a generation or two.

My School have still done their regular 3 trips to Alton Towers (Various departments) and they were so happy that there was hardly any queues..
But in all honesty, it's clear that some action needs to be taken to disassociate themselves with the incident. Whether it be through the use of a super injunction, or a rebrand or something no one has thought of. I'm sure there's some highly paid executives working on this right now.

That's my point, you can do all those things but it will still always be Alton Towers in the minds of guests and in actuality.I didn't mean branding by changing the parks name
I meant perhaps we will see a new logo and a new brand introduced. Different advertising style with a new look. A way to refresh the park after this season.

Not a good day for downtime today.

I believe the new restraints are somewhat troublesome. Is there a reason why Sub-Terra's closed a lot atm? I may have missed out on something.

It really does seem to be an awful season for towers. Rides seem to spend more time closed than open since the Smiler accident! In the past the odd ride went down, now it seems almost eve to ride is down for quite some time each day.
Queues are certainly not as busy as normal, especially with this lovely weather we have been having. The park was dead on Tuesday, one of the hottest days of year, with most rides walk on even with a 5pm ride close.
As for the Sonic crash, I was on park that day and went on sonic at 3pm, so it certainly couldn't have been that major!
