    I
Can you give more information, I'm not clicking on a Daily hateMail link.

What was the machine? Where was it being used, did they have the right training and PPE?

BBC's giving no news on the location of the incident, but it'd almost certainly either be on the construction site for the CBeebies Hotel or for SW8.

    I'm thinking CBeebies Hotel.

This is just the kind of thing Towers really don't need.

According to the BBC the worker was run over by a dumper truck, needless to say that training is not mentioned. I can't recall whether Kettle & Talbot are contractors on SW8 or the CBeebies Land hotel. I'm also unsure where responsobility would lie in regards to a contractor, is it an Alton Towers matter or a Kettle & Talbot matter? I'd imagine K&T have to have their own safe working procedures.

It would be a Kettle & Talbot matter I expect, he would be their employee. I guess he would have been wearing hi vis, so HSE questions would be mirrors and visibility from the truck I guess and whether they should have used a banksman when reversing.

Pretty sure when we were mocking that Kettle & Talbot photo a few weeks back it was in relation to work on SW8.

Kettle & Talbot are doing SW8, M&B are doing the CBeebies Land Hotel.

I thought they used TG Cruise because of how good their previous work was?

Alton Towers are saving them for a future waterpark expansion that features a swimming pool that gets deeper with each visit!

Well they couldn't possibly pass up this opportunity to remind people of The Smiler incident. It's basically them saying "The Sun are starting their 2 free Alton Towers tickets promotion soon. But if you buy that paper and get those tickets, you could be in a crash like this too. So just buy our paper instead." I'm sure they lose a lot of custom with people stopping buying the daily mail and getting The Sun instead when the vouchers are in it. This is perfect timing for them.
Will be interesting to see how, and indeed if The Sun report on this.

Accidents are common place on a construction site probably more than you'd know. They're not reported because they're nothing stories. The only reason this has been reported is because it's a rag of a newspaper designed to appeal to the masses of clickbait-loving idiots who love a good moan about anything and everything.

The person hasn't been seriously injured, and it's not Towers' fault unless Henry Hound decided to jump in the truck and go on a little trampling spree. A pointless story in a pointless 'newspaper' yet again.

I can't get the picture of a maniacal Henry Hound trampling hordes of Hi-vizzers out of my mind now :)

Doesn't look too bad to be fair, these are also opposite the SW8 building site so without the flume entrance they may see less foot traffic and therefore sales were down. Its really not worth HB spending the the money on the staffing if the games just aren't being played.

Good point, plus with the path to Katanga being closed there really won't be too many guests heading down that pathway. At least they have attempted to theme it, I'm sure it will all be looked at again next year with SW8 opening.

If anything that looks better than a row of HB Leisure units.

I hate HB but I must be honest I disagree here.

Those vinyls are some of the tackiest I've seen.
