Well, it makes a change from the roof of the Towers catching fire.

Hopefully nothing too serious. Any word on exactly what it was?
 
It’s amazing how many idiots there are asking how does this happen?

There was a major fireworks event on...it happens especially with wind.

Managed to get out within 10mins of show ending, car park staff doing an excellent job at keeping the flow going.
 
If the Smiler hadn't crashed in 2015, would they have posted this story? My money's on "no".

The fact it was a small fire caused by a firework in a known drop zone, which was not open to guests or staff for that reason, which caused no injuries, and which was quickly extinguished is, in my opinion, a non-event.
 
I think in this day and age yes it would still have been reported somewhere regardless of Smiler.

The park announced it on social media and subsequent non opening of areas which would of generated interest anyway.

That poor Skyride station is still waiting for its moment of glory

The media talk about anything to do with Alton towers now days. If anything tho, it is towers fault as if the incident didn't happen, the media wouldn't be talking about a non-event like this
 
Last day of the season! I haven't actually seen the fireworks before but hoping to for the first time next season. And with it being the 40th anniversary, I expect it to be even better than this year. I'm hoping next season is just as good if not better than this season as it's been great

All jokes aside, with the ridetimes website no longer running due to the queues being on the app, I don't look as much anymore. It was the colours that suited my interest not the numbers
