2019: General Discussion
Yeah they are reactive rather than proactive.Although to their credit the downloadable park map is now for 2019. It was wrong when I tried a couple of weeks ago. It's almost like Alton Towers read the forums...

Does anyone know how the platinum fast-track collection works?
My wife and I are visiting as a surprise - our best friends are visiting as a birthday treat, so we are planning to "randomly" intercept them in the park unbeknown to them.
When booking, it looked like it was going to be a "scan your phone" affair, but when I've looked at the email it says "visit the platinum collection point at the box office to collect your wristband".
Now I've stood in queues for the Box Office longer than some rides. Is this the same old place, or is there actually a "special" collection point or machine?
I know they've ordered fast-tracks. I don't want the surprise to be ruined by meeting them in a box office queue!

There is now a separate counter where Platinum Fastrack wristbands can be collected, without having to queue. The counter is on the far left of the Box Office, where the VIP MAP collection counter is, meaning you don't have to join a queue. There's big signage on the counter so you should be able to see where to go. You then just show the wristband along with your E-Ticket barcode on your phone when at the rides.

To be fair the mother was right! And no emails have been sent, besides Wayne Burton would surely have posted in the VIP group.I didn’t hear it all but this was about 10:10, lady manager was telling them something about 10am only and they had sent email about a change. (I'm not saying having ago at staff is the correct way to handle things however)

Thorpe? They seem to be quite eager! There isn’t a single Merlin attraction that likes the VIP pass so it wouldn’t surprise me if they start trying to curb it in small ways.
