2019: Scandinavia & Snorri Touren

Another Scandinavia update:

Doulbe post, but some more news on Scandinavia!

Firstly, it appears that the new Scandinavian themed area will open on either the 24th or 25th May 2019. The press conference for Hotel Krønasår takes place on the 24th and the following implies a tie in with the re-opening of Scandinavia:

There has also been an interview on Europa-Park Radio in which the following information was given (according to Europa-Park Fans):
  • The thematization will be more detailed
  • The buildings will be higher, because of new requirements and regulations, sometimes two floors instead of one
  • The reconstruction of the tunnel at Fjord-Rafting is the last step
  • At the beginning of the season, the facades of the village up to the Fjord-Rafting are largely completed.
  • According to the current calendar, the opening of the Scandinavian district is planned at the end of May 2019
  • The ice stand that was previously on the left is now on the right.
  • The game stands will be on a smaller scale.
  • The old fountain will be back.
  • The photo point with the requester will be moved to another place where there is more space.
  • At the restaurant fjord, there is still the D'Andersen room.
  • The Andersen tower will serve as an entrance to the surprise in the basement.
  • There are several new terraces integrated into the village
  • New shop on the theme of Rulantica
 
Great news; almost the exact date one year on from the fire as well. I thought it'd be another month or two until Scandinavia re-opened. Those last two weeks of May are going to be very exciting times for the park!

EP embarrass the whole of the UK theme park industry... Disney can't retheme existing rides in that time frame. It's so impressive seeing an organisation with EPs passion and commitment. They already had a shed load of things in progress, and also deal with this as well as if it just needed a coat of paint to sort it all out.

A lot of people seem to think it’s the Fjord Rafting tunnel, and looking at the concept art that was released the other day, it does look very much like it. Another possibility is the “Snorri’s Saga” lazy river section of Rulantica, but I think that is less likely.
