It's a good idea on paper however I can't see it being a very practical one. Volcano Bay struggles and that's huge in comparison. Although saying this I might be wrong in saying Rulantica wasn't hitting anywhere near its capacity? If so it might be a good shout to implement and iron out before it gets more popular.

I guess if capacity is reduced for social distancing reasons in the near future, perfect chance to test it out. Could then, once you have a working system (and worldwide events allow lol), look at gently increasing the capacity. But agreed, can't imagine it'd easily be possible, if at all...

I'm unsure as to whether the comment was aimed at just Rulantica or at Europa-Park as a whole. Presumably the latter as it was more of a general interview about the works going on in the park. The Rulantica part of the episode was all about the storytelling anyway.

A nice profile of Up Leon, one of the most diverse artists within the entertainment division at EP:

EP have partnered with Offenburg AutoKino/Drive in Cinema to have on 17th May "The Big Europa Park Family Afternoon". All 5 of the park's films from Magic Cinema will be shown in a row including the world premiere of the new "Departure to Batavia" film. Part of the proceeds of the 5 euro entry tickets will be donated to Ortenau Clinic, to honor the tireless efforts of the 6,000 heroes in the fight against the Corona Virus.

The article also mentions Mack Animation is working on a sequel for Happy Family in 2021...

Is driving over from the UK for this deemed as essential travel?

    What a lovely idea though!

With the extended closed season Europa Park are taking the opportunity to carry out extra refurbishment work - all the more content for the start of season video! ;)

The street in front of the Magic Cinema with the EP walk of fame stars is being repaved with new natural granite modelled after the historic streets of Montmartre in Paris. The stars will receive new covers and backlighting.

And... yes it's seemingly happening. Two employees of Mack NeXT/Mack Solutions have this behind the scenes web series, and the latest episode was about Geisterschloss - they walked through the ride scenes giving some insights and poked fun at the mix of stories present. "Here's our pre-show room which as you know Disney copied from us".

But most excitingly they talk about the new Ghost Hunter animatronic and confirm it is the first step, in a gradual step by step process of bringing together a single storyline connected to the ACE but still leaning on the original historic story by Ulrich Damrau.

This is why I love EP! Totally unnecessary, not at all needed, but hey! :D

    Hi all,

This is a bit of an open ended question but keen to discuss anyway. With the current financial implications around the world, does EP have the reserves to not open for the foreseeable? I know Germany is in a much different place from the UK but they still must be taking a considerable hit.

Also when they do open, surely it will be limited? I know they have never disclosed how successful they are financially but this will surely be a testing time not only for EP, but all leisure/theme parks in Germany. We will no doubt see another increase in ticket prices, plus an delay in the Rulantica expansion.

    Thoughts?

Theme parks in some states of Germany are reopening in late May, so they may be operating again by June. But yes, attendance will be limited at first.

Europa-Park will be burning through their liquidity as much as the next person. Hopefully, they can make it through.

Sadly, the next large coaster which was always rumoured to be pushed back a year by the fire... will no doubt be pushed back yet another year because of this.

I think if they had serious liquidity concerns, the entirely unnecessary but welcome projects, like repaving the street in France next to Magic Cinema would not be going ahead.
