Because they may have failed to remove it from the app yet in the event it is closed permanently. I don't think the queue times of rides on an app that is only used by geeks over closed season isn't at the forefront of their mind.
I was under the impression it was removed from the app.

Don't trust Ride Times. That applies most of the year to be honest, but especially over closed season...

Strangely Oblivion has dropped off ridetimes.

The fact that parts of Blade are scattered around the place does suggest that the current plan is for it to return. A lot of money has been spent on it over the last year or so, and that money was intended to go further than it has done so far.
Of course there is every chance that they put it all back together, start testing and it decides to go kaput again. Or it may open for a month and break. Or it could last the whole season. I don't think even Alton Towers know what is going to happen with it yet!

Towers never ever ever bin anything at all. Look at all the ancient stuff they can drag in for Scarefest in a maze after not seeing the light of day for 15 years
Very true, they've used the dolls that were on the balcony of the Indoor Play Area in Cred Street (unsure of when they were originally there) as props for Carnival of Screams. Then they re-purposed Carnival of Screams props for the Freak Show scare zone, which also featured the big Flume tap.

They test them regularly to stop them getting clogged up.Popped up to Towers for a spot of lunch yesterday, and when having a wander to the park entrance and back we noticed a sound very similar to that of a waterfall in an area where you would be able to hear the waterfalls on the rapids. So my best guess is that they were running the waterfalls yesterday, but why would that be? Who knows!
I'm told they want to have them running again but can't yet due to the Drayton Manor incident, but they keep them in working order

In regards to the waterfall. It would be a similar ish position from the areas outside the actual park boundaries, where you can hear the waterfall that makes up the Katanga Canyon sign. They are located very close together.

Not sure how true this is, but I was talking to a friend who works at Towers as a ride op who said at first staff thought The Blade's mechanism was broken so they took the boat off to fix it. Turns out the mechanism was fine but the bottom of the ride is rotten and not in a good way so they doubt it will come back. Again, not sure how true but thought it was worth a mention!
Oh well. With that and ripsaw gone, remove the arcade and sub terra aswell and plenty of room for SW9 there! Not sure how true this is, but I was talking to a friend who works at Towers as a ride op who said at first staff thought The Blade's mechanism was broken so they took the boat off to fix it.
