They already talking about playing the rest of the premiership games behind closed doors in June and July so I doubt theme parks will be open as staff and guests will have to be in contact with each other.
I hope now nearly everything is in lockdown people will stay at home and just travel to work.

I don't understand how the government possibly think it'll take that long. If the country is in lockdown for 3 weeks, that means in 2 weeks people with the virus will get symptoms, then will be in isolation for a further week to recover, meaning that in a months time in theory no one should have the virus

Key word - Theory.
We still don't know the effects of reintroducing people back into the wild as it were. I would expect and hope that theme parks will open October onwards - all being well, but I also wouldn't rule out parks not opening this season. We have a global crisis to solve first.

Legoland Japan reopened yesterday after closing in Feb.
Let’s see how that goes, could be a guide to the closure of European parks.
Isn't it owned by Merlin? Remember they'f be open here if Boris didn't stand in.

The government didn't force them to close, however; they just announced it by themselves. If they had physically been forced to close, then they likely wouldn't have announced a closure until Friday night.
I could personally see the parks opening up again towards the summer; the ideal breeding temperature for coronavirus is apparently 7-11°, which is exactly the sort of temperatures that Britain experiences on average in March/April, so it might spread a bit more slowly once summer comes, meaning that they feel safe to let us back outside again. In fact, if the park opens in summer and has a good Q3, dare I say that they might actually still match or beat 2015 in terms of attendance; every time I went to the park in 2015, I'd hazard a guess that staff probably outnumbered guests!

The timing here has very little to do with it. Merlin did not close their parks out of choice, they had just second guessed the government by 24hrs. Their handling of the situation showed off some extremely poor decision making at the top of the company.

So as of yet and probably until later into the summer months the most visited theme park in the UK is..............Blackpool pleasure beach! Well done Mandy.

I read that as soon as the government relax on things on lockdown they will more or less will still have the 1m rule in place so I can’t see theme parks been open this year as staff need to check guests seats. You gonna be going to theme parks with friends and family and the last thing the government want is it spreading again.

Don't forget that both Legoland and Chessington were open just before the lockdown, with social distancing measures in place, so it is possible.I read that as soon as the government relax on things on lockdown they will more or less will still have the 1m rule in place so I can’t see theme parks been open this year as staff need to check guests seats. A lot of stating opinion as fact going on here.
I'm pretty certain the government themselves don't know quite when relaxations will occur and what form they will take. This stuff will be war gamed on a daily basis taking in to account all of that days metrics.
All that is known is we are not there yet and have a some considerable way to go before we get there.
