Which of these new temporary rides will not make me sick? Waltzers I already know make me sick or very close to it, so I can't stand anything like that. Or, which is the least sick inducing of them?
I’m wondering the same thing, as I’ll admit that my experience with flat rides is not that great, and I also don’t seem to have the highest of spin/flip tolerances based on past experience.
The Smashing Jump looks like good fun, and not too dissimilar to something I once rode at a pop-up fair a few years back and rather enjoyed!
The Twist should be great fun based on the similar model at Folly Farm that I’ve ridden many times and really enjoyed!
I’m not too sure about the Waltzer, but I might be able to just about stomach it if it’s run on a very weak setting. I’ve never actually ridden a Waltzer before, so I couldn’t say for sure.
I’m not too sure on the Super Trooper either, as I’ve never ridden anything like it before.
For some idea of my spin tolerance/flat ride intensity tolerance, I was able to cope with Marauder’s Mayhem at Alton Towers and Samurai at Thorpe Park, but I legitimately thought I was going to throw up after Air Race at Drayton Manor, and Reverchon spinning mouse coasters can sometimes leave me a bit queasy if they’re particularly spinny; I couldn’t even walk in a straight line getting off of Ice Mountain at Winter Wonderland!
I ride the Twist regularly at Brean and it never really makes me feel ill. I get ill after more than one ride on Enterprise, Marauder's and I get terrible travel sickness unless I'm driving if that's any help to benchmark yourself?Which of these new temporary rides will not make me sick? So does anyone think we'll be getting extended opening hours this season, I'm going in June so I really hope so
In Theme Park Worldwide's latest video he comments on the generators for lights as he passes one saying that one day last week he was there and they took delivery of even more. So maybe they are planning more later opening hours leading up to the longest day of the year. If not, seems strange to have them all around the park ready for Scarefest already!Yes - although I would imagine the quietest off-peak school weekdays will remain limited. I would imagine we'll see 1 hour added to the majority of holiday/weekend times currently displayed on the website with an additional hour or two on top for event periods.
I wish they would post the hours up, because that would encourage me to know when to book...!

There were loads of the generators in the coach overflow car park last week, which is very odd for this time of year as they are usually all sent back after Christmas, and don’t return until Halloween.
Come on now Mr Optimism...Only a week to go now until the big day! I don’t know why, but this season is the most excited I’ve been for a theme park season for a number of years, and I’m not just talking about Alton Towers! I can’t quite put my finger on why, but there seems to be a palpable buzz throughout the UK industry this year; every theme park in this country just seems to be buzzing, and have such a positive vibe about it leading up to the new season!
Frankly, I can’t wait to see what 2021 brings to UK theme parks!
On a more Towers-related note, where are you rushing to first on 12th April (or whenever your first Towers visit is, as I know most are headed to Paultons on 12th April)?
OK, I might have over-exaggerated a bit there. But my point is; I think this season will be a good one, for the whole UK industry! I can just feel it!Come on now Mr Optimism...
Mingo...Lots of rides not yet ready to open, Lightwater, main attractions closed, deaths door, Dreamland, shut for a while longer.
Every theme park in the country is not quite buzzing, just yet.
