@GaryH you have a rare 2021 season pass I believe? The prebook system seems to only be set up for those that still have 2020 passes which will expire at the end of June.
Alton Towers seem to have overlooked those pass holders who were issued with a 2021 pass. Probably best to DM them on Twitter I would say to ask what their solution is.

I’ve had the same issue with my Season Pass. Do you have the 2021 pass in your hands? They previously sent me the paperwork for the new pass and I assumed I would pick it up on my next visit but they have now said I need the new pass to be able to pre-book and they will be posting it out to me

I find SuperTrooper the least extreme and dizzying of the 4; it only spins on the one large circle at a pretty consistent pace. It's quite a relaxing sensation really.
The smashing jump is more of a chaotic ride which breaks the constant tight forces the twister and waltzer give. That variation might make it more tolerable if you suffer from dizziness, but it can also turn pretty rapidly in a very tight circle while facing outwards, which I think is about as bad as it can get for some peoples sickness.
I don't really suffer from dizziness on rides, but even I can be knocked by a properly running waltzer, that certainly has the potential to be the most extreme of the four.
My advice is try everything once. It won't kill you and if you don't enjoy it don't do it again!

I ride the Twist regularly at Brean and it never really makes me feel ill. I get ill after more than one ride on Enterprise, Marauder's and I get terrible travel sickness unless I'm driving if that's any help to benchmark yourself?
I find the twist gives me more of a forward and back sensation rather than feeling spin like and dizzy. I quite like a twist actually. Really intense yet doesn't make me feel ill.

Also for anyone who'd be riding alone, the Smashing Jump is the only one you'll probably be able to ride (has individual bucket seats with a shoulder harness) as the other three have shared seating and may require 2 or more riders per seat. And because of that they squash riders together like sardines.

You can ride a funfair twister on your own though so I don't know why that'd be any different there? Wouldn't the same go for all of them as well? Pretty sure you can ride a Super Trooper and Waltzers solo.

Yes - although I would imagine the quietest off-peak school weekdays will remain limited. I would imagine we'll see 1 hour added to the majority of holiday/weekend times currently displayed on the website with an additional hour or two on top for event periods.
I wish they would post the hours up, because that would encourage me to know when to book...!

In Theme Park Worldwide's latest video he comments on the generators for lights as he passes one saying that one day last week he was there and they took delivery of even more. So maybe they are planning more later opening hours leading up to the longest day of the year. If not, seems strange to have them all around the park ready for Scarefest already!

There were loads of the generators in the coach overflow car park last week, which is very odd for this time of year as they are usually all sent back after Christmas, and don’t return until Halloween.

Only a week to go now until the big day! I don’t know why, but this season is the most excited I’ve been for a theme park season for a number of years, and I’m not just talking about Alton Towers! I can’t quite put my finger on why, but there seems to be a palpable buzz throughout the UK industry this year; every theme park in this country just seems to be buzzing, and have such a positive vibe about it leading up to the new season!
Frankly, I can’t wait to see what 2021 brings to UK theme parks!
On a more Towers-related note, where are you rushing to first on 12th April (or whenever your first Towers visit is, as I know most are headed to Paultons on 12th April)?

I certainly think this is shaping up to be the best season for Alton Towers in quite a while.
The addition of extra capacity in rides, new events and entertainment plus longer opening hours should help deliver better days out.
Combined with a new ride with a popular IP and the fact less people will be travelling abroad and will instead be looking at UK breaks, this will hopefully result in a successful year for guests and the company’s profits.
They have a good opportunity to bag themselves some new long term visitors if they come to the park in 2021, perhaps for the first time ever, or for the first time in a while and have a great day - they are more likely to come back next year and so on.
Let’s hope it all goes to plan!
