Obviously they'll want to get rid of all the old merchandise. Good for collectors now!

Is anyone else sick of the number of temporary tents and barriers around the park. Off the top of my head

Security checks - these aren’t going away, and they look awful in the plaza. Build a permanent solution.

Galactica Entrance - as above, the tent looks awful and ruins a flagship view of Galactica. Although this is most likely to be addressed as FV will have extra attention next year. A dedicated hotel entrance shelter would be perfect

General presentation too. There are some jobs that cost literally no money that would make a difference. For one example, the ride area around funk n fly is a mess, but could be remedied by literally moving the junk around the back of the fence.

From the MAP Facebook group, apparently the monorail is closed for a few days due to Nemmy's retrack. Take it with a pinch of salt though.

I did see them doing work near the helix so that might be true

I think it is inevitable that the Monorail may have to close at times this season for work on Nemesis, especially if they are planning on installing new supports and track during the season.

The resort are hiring for a new Strategic Development Director.

The Strategic Development Director will lead and manage Resort project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle to ensure deadlines are met within budget and set timescales, including the production and authorisation of good quality and timely board papers.

KEY OBJECTIVES…

• Liaison with Divisional Director and Resort Leadership Team to deliver the 10 year Strategic Development Plan for the business in line with the corporate mission.
• Proactively support the Project Champion for projects over the value of £1m.
• Strategically oversee Corporate Social Responsibility for the resort and support the Divisional Director with external relationships and community involvement.
• Ensure the resort is represented positively and accurately in the local media and minimise the impact if issues occur, protecting the business and brand against adverse external representation.
• Liaise and support the Head of Media Relations on local matters as necessary.
• Liaise with other Resort Theme Park Strategic Development Directors to ensure best practice, alignment of approach and ongoing support across the UK existing estate.

Never apply for a job that doesn't tell you the salary up front. Competitive is very unlikely.

Was certainly closed today. I was there early and was guided to park my car at the "barriers" end of an empty car park and not at the monorail end like normal

Must have been some work going on that meant it couldn’t run. I know that some of the new Nemesis footers were installed today.

They were letting people in through the forbidden valley entrance without a hotel reservation yesterday as long as you had pre-booked, certainly let us in with MAP's anyway. Not that this was advertised anywhere, but if anyone is planning on going while the monorail is shut, it's worth asking to save yourself the long walk.

Tried it last year at scarefest. I insisted to my mates they wouldn't let us in but they did and we walked on Nemesis

Me and 7 of my friends walked straight through didn't need to show our map prebook or our hotel bookings

Monorail up and running again today. Shame the same can’t be said for several of the rides.
