The Aramark mention is just wierd though. It's another of these examples where saying nothing would be a more positive message than what's been said.

As it reads, it seems to be claiming that somehow Aramark have now got it right and offering the right quality and service at the right price. It's like they're doubling down on a poor quality service, like it's the best they can do.

It's another unforced error that could result in them losing custom next year. Doubling down on mediocrity as if it's good quality is a dangerous game when communicating with customers who have had a poor experience.

Almost makes me wonder if Aramark has complained about something around reputation and Merlin are forcing some positive PR to make them happy 🤷‍♂️

I mean Towers can say all the positive things they like guests see the prices and taste the food so it won’t make a blind bit of difference.

Totally agree - Towers will only ever put a positive spin on Aramark, but guests will form their own opinion pretty fast (& it won't be good in most cases).

Even the mighty - Apple - can cock-up. A few years ago an iOS upgrade saw them remove the camera roll / scroll in the Photos App (that lets you view all your photos in chronological order). They called it an "enhancement" as their idea of using Events was better. Users worldwide disagreed & a bug-fix was quickly released which - oddly enough - returned the feature.

They never use the monorail to transport hotel guests to Mutiny bay in winter. Unsure what the speculation is?
Oh, it’s a “Rail Replacement Bus” joke and I thought someone was bound to misinterpret it and lead to some ‘Omg, not the monorail being removed’.

Probably not the best way of phrasing the original post tbh, although confusingly the post has now been quoted in the Monorail Replacement thread?

Last weekend of the 2024 season, and it seems that even the staff bus drivers are having fun with some off-season speculation tomfoolery!
Quite laughable from the public tbh. It’s a 15 min walk I can’t believe how lazy some people are. Not as if you’re visiting a massive theme park where you’ll be walking all day

Some people have mobility issues and then there's adverse weather plus the fact that as you say, the park itself is already massive and has been without an internal transport system for several years. And of course you're likely to spend many many hours standing in queues for the main attractions.

The fact the monorail even exists is acknowledgment that it is required for many so it's not really fair to berate people as being lazy.

The difference is that once you’re in the park, you can hire a mobility scooter to make the walking easier, and the Skyride will also make that easier when it returns, whereas you don’t have that option when you’re walking to the park unless you want to wait a very long time for the Monorail.

For some, it may also be a way of easing the amount of walking. Alton of all places requires a lot of walking, so for some, they may appreciate any opportunity to not walk.

It’s very easy to be blase about the walk when you don’t struggle with mobility and walking, but lots of people do. For them, things like the Monorail and the Skyride are a lifeline for them during a Towers visit. Yes, some might argue “why visit a theme park if you don’t like walking?”, but that isn’t terribly inclusive; walking is simply a means to an end in the context of a theme park. Plenty of people want to experience these rides regardless of their strength of mobility.

Don’t know why people bring up those with mobility issues as if I even mentioned them. I’m talking about people who obviously don’t have those problems are being lazy. Is this assumption street I never once mentioned people with mobility issues
