Don’t know why people bring up those with mobility issues as if I even mentioned them. I’m talking about people who obviously don’t have those problems are being lazy. Is this assumption street I never once mentioned people with mobility issues

As myself and @Matt N just pointed out, there are valid reasons beyond mobility issues for the existence of the monorail including more we haven’t mentioned.

Is it lazy to use the moving walkways at an airport or even some theme parks?

Alton Towers themselves state the walk is 15-25 minutes so for some that’s potentially nearly an hour of walking just getting to and from the park entrance.

Not a lot, I'm too tall for top spins and always enjoyed a ride on blade, no doubt gonna be a year of budget cuts and operational decline again but who am I kidding I renewed my MAP anyway.

Just hoping they put on an ace fireworks show, that's always a good highlight of the season.

I’d like to see some new effects/scenes added to the numerous dark/dead spots of The Curse at Alton Manor. Hopefully they can fix the trommel tunnel too

Hope they offer track walks again. Would love to give Oblivion a try despite my fear of heights!

Looking forward to seeing how the new flat ride fits in with the Forbidden Valley area theming. At the moment it seems to stick out like a sore thumb

The key thing I hope for this season is that ride availability is better.

There are a lot of things you could put on your Alton Towers wish list, but I’d argue that available rides is a key fundamental of their business, and I think it’s fair to say that ride availability was less than stellar at numerous points in 2024. Admittedly, this was partially caused by the weather on the day I visited, but I was in the park on a day in March 2024 where it absolutely imploded from a ride availability standpoint and very little was open for much of the day, and I gather that there were other very similar days during the 2024 season.

I know bad days happen, I know bad weather happens, and I do sympathise with them to an extent in this regard, but it does not sound like my day in March was an isolated freak occurrence last year. Even on days where the weather wasn’t a factor like it was for me, the park appeared to exhibit quite ropey ride availability on a number of occasions in 2024.

The number of “bad days” in terms of ride availability last season was definitely higher than you’d hope for, so my key hope for 2025 is simply that the park gets a handle on this issue. I don’t think the situation we had last season is sustainable long term; poor availability leaves a very bad taste in people’s mouths, and they won’t come back if they think ride availability is a lottery.

I just think anyone who doesn't walk the entire track layouts is lazy. Absolutely no need for coaster trains when you can earn your way around the layout with a good climb.

Also, can we start a new thread, I've seen a rumour that Towers are removing all the ride trains for next year!? 😱

Plus DigitalStan on YouTube just posted a video "Alton Towers to REMOVE ALL OF THESE in 2025?!" With a blurred thumbnail of what definitely may or possibly may not look like ride trains 😱

Agree with what @Matt N says from a functional perspective (and as a result won’t be visiting this year). So I hope they demonstrate improvement in that regard.

Beyond that I hope they announce something that gives me hope for the future (beyond a CBeebies ride), be that a Horizon reveal, plans for The Dungeons or something else as all the excitement seems to be at Chessington in the coming years. Even Horizon seems to have lost its rumoured secret weapon status.

Lil one will have a few more rides to go on since she's 0.9m (or will be by March). Second cred for her as well.

Although she'll no doubt be frustrated by a number of rides (e.g. Marauders) that she can't ride but has ridden equivalents over our Christmas trip.

Skyride being open would help the journey between the relevant attractions for us as a whole.

The rest of the park will still struggle if anything breaks. Still a plentiful amount of problems elsewhere.

Still no further release after July of opening times, seems quite late this closed season in the full line up of hours, no matter how much change they are subjected too.

Not a lot. Is it really worth going to Alton Towers to 2027.
A significant number of people don’t visit a theme park every year. It’s quite normal to go every 2-3 years and have a couple of new things to experience. Some people visiting in 2025 won‘t have done curse or Nemesis Reborn and now the new top spin as well.

I went in 2024 for the first time since 2019 and my next visit will be 2026 at the earliest.
